Gardening in the last days of summer stirs a fervor within me. If there was time to spare before (well, probably not) there definitely isn’t any now. All the seasons’ efforts that have brought the gardens to this point must be savored. Drank in, while in motion, harvest, w**d and repeat. Like the hummingbirds that call my gardens home, I must drink the nectar from each blossom, embue in the beauty, dreaming of all I will create from my baskets of blooms.

In the disaster flooding storm of January 2024, our barn foundation washed out. Our small, family, woman run farm needs your Help! We are calling on our community for support to raise the $20,000 for our local contractor to repair the barn foundation (before winter weather returns) plus the $450 for the farm concert musicians. Come support woman owned agriculture, our historic post and beam barn that houses our farm animals and our small, multigenerational, family farm. July in the field~ The Farm and the gardens my children and I cultivate are the inspiration, the muse for my floral art. Every day new insights emerge. In the beginning of June, I worked on a week long floral project, set at The Barn on Walnut Hill.

I loved creating in the calm presence of this forest grove ceremony setting.

My floral event work has many layers of meaning woven in. Connection to place, communicating with the natural space. Learning my clients and their love. I love creating blessed places with my art, my life’s work, my floral art in and with Nature, about love.

The farm gardens are my heart.
A quack grass field prior. They have been lovingly coaxed on a mere matter of years.
My relationship to my gardens is a forever fervor.
When they wake in the spring to when they are put to bed in the fall, and of course through the long winter I dream of them. Both in practice as I shape them with my own hands, my feet sinking into the soil as I work.
And in the night time, dreaming of the flowers I will coax forth. Farming flowers for me is synchronicity, with all life here on the farm, no matter what I create I weave the story of a depth of relationship with the land, that feeds me to my roots, and I hope feeds everyone who visits here, clients I create for, and those I share home with here on the farm. My perennial beds weave into flower growing fields, circling back to vegetable & herb gardens and meandering on. As you may guess, I live and breathe plants. And have since I was a tiny child.
This depth of place is one of my gifts I bring to the gardens I design for clients and of course my floral work I create every day.
