This is it folks!! Port Jefferson Elks and it’s members utilized $2,000 from the ENF Gratitude Grant to stuff 192 backpacks!! All 192 of them were delivered Between Friday and today!! 3 districts Middle Country Schools, Longwood School District and Comsewogue School District have received 64 stuffed backpacks each to help 64 children thru-out each district! We hope all 192 recipients of these backpacks have a bright and successful school year!! About Last Night!!! First and foremost, as this being the first year that I chaired an event, with the help of Tony Florio & Rick Seifts, I'd like to thank you all for showing up and making it such a huge success!! We even had a couple of Middle School Kids come and help out! Thank you Emma Rosario (Dawnwood Middle School) and Ariana Smith (Selden Middle School) for sharing your Friday night with the Elks!! With our Gratitude Grant this year we were able to purchase enough supplies and backpacks to donate to 3 local school districts for our Backpacks for Kids Program. We were able to stuff 192 backpacks!!! Over the next couple weeks, we will be delivering these backpacks to Middle Country School District, Longwood School District and Comsewogue School District!! Thank you all for your help!!
