Hi friends! It has been a little while since I have posted here. The first week of school had us busy (we officially have a first grader in the house! Woo hoo!🍎📚)

Summer is slowing fading, the air feels cooler, and the days getting shorter. We even had to pull out a sweater from the back of the closet. But the farmers market still has been full of cheerful blooms, crisp mornings, and so many friendly faces!

Here is a little glimpse from some of our recent market mornings. We will be there until the summer market season ends in November, so see you this weekend!

I think we have found the spot for our zinnias this year! We planted these flowers in a few different places, but this sunny little patch in the backyard is definitely the winner. Ironically, it is right along the path the deer take to sneak into our garden, but they seem to stroll right past the zinnias and dahlias without a second glance.

Our poor hydrangeas though? Not so lucky. 😩🦌

Our mixed bouquets are perfect for recitals and performances, whether it is a first piano piece or a dance recital on stage.

Last Saturday was Theo’s piano recital, and of course, we had flowers for him. Every brave little performer deserves something special to celebrate their courage and achievement! 🌟🎹

Over the seasons, we have had the joy of sending our bouquets to proud grandparents, cheering friends, and families celebrating these sweet milestones. It is always heartwarming to know our flowers get to be part of someone’s special day.

Marigolds love our property and have done really well for the past seasons. And we love them right back. So we planted even more this year. But guess who else is a fan? The backyard bunnies. 🐰 They have been sneaking nibbles, and we are definitely going to need a game plan!

Despite the bunny buffet, we have been working on something extra special with these blooms… It is fun, festive, and unlike anything we have done before. Cannot spill the beans just yet, but stay tuned! ✨

With this heat wave, our lilies literally exploded into bloom. They were still in tight buds the last time I checked… and suddenly, there they were. Fully open, putting on a show and filling the field with their sweet fragrance.

Harvesting flowers like lilies, tulips, and peonies is all about timing and can be tricky. You blink and they are already blooming. But when they open like this, it’s a treat for us. We get to savor every petal and every scent.

They are like fuzzy little sunflowers, bursting with golden petals and sunny charm. These cheerful blooms started from seeds last year. Back then, they gave us just a few modest stems. But this year? They have returned taller, brighter, and more abundant than ever! A perfect reminder that good things really do take time to grow.

Let’s talk about lilies. Love them or hate them?

When we brought our mixed bouquets with lilies to the market, we saw it all. Folks leaning in for a deep sniff… and others just casually walking away! 😂

It’s true. Lilies are fragrant and dramatic. And they are also very toxic to cats. If you have a feline friend at home, this beauty might be a no-go. No worries though! We will also have lily-free bouquets.

Our very first dahlia bloom of the season is here… and she is a beauty! Meet Totally Tangerine, shaped like little sun rays with a burst of molten lava in the center (or maybe that’s just my heatwave brain talking😅).

Either way, dahlia season is officially here, and we cannot wait to see the summer blooms come into full swing!

We are already missing our peonies 💕

While flipping through recent photos, I came across this sweet little vignette, and I swear I could smell that room-filling fragrance all over again.

Peony season is short, but it lingers in the best way. In memory, in photos, and now, in future plans. I just placed an order for even more roots to plant this fall. Next season will be even more glorious. Stay tuned!
