Attention Hickman County!

🔥 Burn Permits Required 🔥

To help reduce the risk of wildfires, Tennesseans are reminded that from October 15 to May 15, a burn permit is required for any open burning in areas where local restrictions do not apply. Permits are free and easy to obtain from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division.

📝 Get your permit online at www.BurnSafeTN.org or through the MyTN app.
📞 You can also call 877-350-BURN (2876) if you have limited internet access.

Remember:

Only burn when conditions are safe—avoid windy, dry days.

Notify your neighbors and local fire department in advance.

Follow all safety guidelines to protect our communities and natural resources.

Burning without a permit is illegal and can result in fines or jail time. Let’s all do our part to prevent wildfires!

For more info on safe burning and fire prevention, visit www.BurnSafeTN.org.

It was a dark and stormy night when the youth of Hickman County gathered once again to plan their next fundraiser…with a little bit of magic, some scary stories, and a whole lot of candy, it was time to bring their newest creation to life!

Without further ado, we invite everyone to join us for our next show…Spooky Skits!

Our Spooky Skits show will occur on October 12th, 2024, beginning at 2pm in the Wash Shouse Building @ the Hickman County Ag Pavillion. This show will feature two Halloween-themed skits written by local youth and many performances in between the skits, similar to what was presented in the Artist Showcase. You can expect to see an abundance of amazing singers, dancers, and actors at this upcoming event!

Event admission will once again be $5 for adults and $1 for children under 10. Concessions will also be available again, but be prepared for our Halloween twist!

We’d like to invite everyone to wear their Halloween costumes to this event, and who knows…maybe those with enough courage to set foot on the stage and show off their brilliant outfit can win a prize!

Like candy!? I sure hope you do! At this event, we will have a few jars filled with different types of candy, pay $1 to guess how many pieces are in the jar, and whoever is the closest gets to keep it.

If you or anyone you know would like to perform in our Spooky Skits show, please email us at [email protected] or message us on Facebook and we will get you signed up.

Keep your eyes peeled because there is still more information to come in the following weeks!
