Our comprehensive 3-week program spans 120 hours of immersive learning. The second week focuses on the art of sympathy arrangements, including casket sprays, traditional sympathy designs, standing easels, plants, and elegant vase arrangements. Joe and Keith flew from Tokyo over to the gorgeous tropical island of Okinawa, Japan! They spent a day meandering through the lush and tranquil Tropical Dream Garden. Here are some of their photos of the many lovely “garden rooms” complete with water lily ponds, coy ponds, waterfalls, and even a tower overlooking the beautiful garden and coast along the East China Sea. Joe and Keith made it to Tokyo’s famous Ota flower market. The Ota market owns an enormous tract of land that stretches some 100 acres in the coastal area of Ota ward. The market boasts the largest volume of fruits/vegetables and flowers in Japan. The market has introduced a state-of-the-art computerized transaction system to facilitate the world's largest flower business. They were blown away by the sheer size of it. It is one of the largest in the world! They are always in search of new and different flowers, greeneries, and plants to use in our school. Sign up now for one of our future class sessions! Our students learn to create a Casket Spray, Standing Easels, Traditional Sympathy Arrangements, Planters, Stylish Tropical Table Arrangements, “Form work” (flower covered crosses, wreaths, etc.) and various other “table arrangements”. Their 2nd week ends with them creating the most BEAUTIFUL “mock funeral”.
