It's always a tricky time of the year to schedule outdoor sessions. All week I am stalking the weather app and crossing my piggies in hopes the rain... or snow holds off. It turned out to be a gorgeous pocket of time for Marcus and Heather and they filled the frame beautifully! Congratulati ons! I can't wait to capture your wedding day!

The essence of a human being cannot be defined as one thing each time. We were created to be wonderfully different and diverse. When my friend Jessie posted on her fb page that she needed a photographer who could capture Kylie's creative and non-traditional style I instantly put my hat in the ring. I was ready for something fresh and new, and something that would push my bounds of creativity. The vision and direction literally unfolded a few hours before our meet time. It was wildly exciting, and I also felt a little out of my league. Skepticism of my talent was creeping in. I didn't want to just take pictures for Kylie I wanted to encapsulate a piece of her to share with the world! From nail biting self-doubting to eye of the tiger victorious Rocky... we nailed it!!! Kylie brought the perfect version of herself, and she was gorgeous!

Very exciting moment for us at Capturing Essence! We have been dreaming of having studio space from the beginning of time (or at least the beginning of CEP’s time)! She is still in the beginning of the transition and is still pretty rough around the edges but we have a plan! I will be announcing some themed specials happening in a couple weeks to help us with the reno budget so watch for that this weekend or the beginning of next week.

I am at a loss for words on how thrilled I am that my niece has found such a sweet man to call hers for forever! Josue had never been to the Redwoods or the Oregon Coast and because it holds such a special place in Emily's life it was picture perfect. I told them we had a small surprise for them while we were at the Redwoods. My friend Karen and I walked them through the paths taking pictures along the way. Once we reached the river we took a couple more photos and left them there to soak in the sun and scenery. Meanwhile, we found the best location for their over the top romantic picnic. We set it up, revealed our surprise, took a few pictures, and then left them alone to take it all in (for those wondering we only lit the candles for a few pictures and blew them out so we didn't start a forest fire). I'm not going to lie I was jealous! As a wise young boy said as he passed by, "Of all the places in the entire world that is the best place to have a picnic!" I agree, and I will most definitely be taking my husband on redo for us! I can't wait until later this month when they say I do to being husband and wife!!!
