The Club at Hillbrook is looking for an energetic, passionate individual to join our Events Team. While banquet experience is a plus, we are willing to train the right person. There is potential for growth within the company if we find the perfect candidate.
As an Event Assistant, you will act as a right hand to our Event Director and help them to set up, execute and run our catered events. Some of the tasks you would be involved in:
-Perform assistance duties to the Events Director
--Be point of contact once event director leaves for evening
Directing and assisting a team to ensure the ballroom is set and ready for our scheduled events
--Checking and setting up specialty decor for weddings and other special events
Assisting with the dinner service and any guest special requests, including allergy questions or concerns
-Assist event director with final set up, ceremony organization and running of events
-Responsible for taking care of bridal parties and families from arrival until end of evening.
-Breaking down and boxing up of event decor at end of event in preparation for family to take the following day.
-Provide excellent customer service from the moment of arrival until departure
-Responsible for keeping a timeline, this may require communication with clients or vendors
-Implement best practices and standards in guest services at special events.
-Assist in keeping staff on task throughout the evening
The Club at Hillbrook is the most sought-after venue for weddings and events in Ohio. The colorful gardens, vast woods and beautiful views provide picturesque backdrops for your ceremony, reception or special event. We do around 40 weddings a year along with other special events mixed in throughout the year.
Requirements :
-At least 1-2 years experience in a catering/banquet service position preferred, not required
-High school diploma is required
-Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
-Ability to lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds at a time.
-Ability to perform various activities such as long hours, constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling and squatting
-Self motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to work well with people in a team environment.
-Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under short time constraints and within established deadlines.
-Positive, up beat and professional manor and appearance is a must
-Ability to handle conflict in a calm and collected manor
***This is an entry level position, pay will be based off experience. As we determine skill level and potential within the company, raises and additional tasks will be given appropriately.
20-40 hours a week, primary work days Thursdays through Sundays. (Some holidays will be required)
