If so, you might want to take a look at The Rusty Nail Barn!! Located just 7 miles NE of Chanute, Ks., we offer you a country setting away from all the city noise and traffic. In addition to a peaceful setting, w

e can offer such amenities as a bonfire, complete with hotdogs, s'mores, and the aroma of wood burning in an open firepit. Other amenities include hayrack rides, horse drawn carriage rides, horse shoe pits along with other games, a large hayloft for a good old fashioned barn dance, open skies where you can actually see the stars and listen to the coyotes howling at the moon!! Well how about we do a nightworks display or have helicopter rides for those brave enough to fly over the Neosho River and view the countryside from the air!! Sound like something you would be interested in? Hello, my name is Larry Holman and along with my wife, Janet, we have decided to open up our little piece of paradise for other people to enjoy. We live just a short 10 minutes NE of Chanute, Ks. on a beautiful rolling landscape with lots of trees and plenty of open skies! We have remodeled our barn as the focal point for any occasion that might arise. Some event ideas you may wish to consider would be a family reunion, class reunion, wedding, church groups, school field trips, birthday parties, Halloween party, or how about a lunar eclipse or star gazing party!! Any occasion would be considered. As I mentioned, we have remodeled our barn, complete with a kitchen area as well as a bathroom. We hesitate to do too much to the barn, not wanting to lose that rustic atmosphere that so many people enjoy. It really is a place where you can slow down, unwind, breath in that fresh country air and sit around an open campfire and be mesmerized watching the flames dancing in the breeze! Want to pick up the pace? Then maybe a nightworks display, the best under a dark open sky in the country with no city lights! Or how about a barn dance in the hayloft!! As much as Mother Nature tried to put this wedding off, these two kids said nothing doing and adopted the attitude of 'The Show Must Go On'💕 While many of my trees and treetops are now missing I honestly don't think anybody noticed. As is typically the case, the bride stole the show!! All said, James Sehorn and Amee Fritch said their I Do's and from this moment forward they are now husband and wife. Well, today is a bittersweet day for The Rusty Nail Barn. A glorious day for a wedding but bittersweet in that this is our last wedding of the 2021 season. Nora Pratt and Dylan Phillips were united in marriage today and they bring the wedding season full circle for 2021. Super Congrats to Mr and Mrs Joshua and Tana Taylor on your wedding day here at The Rusty Nail Barn!! Plans for this day were for the bride and groom to be married on the dock at one of our ponds. While we have had several wedding ceremonies on this dock, we have never had a bride and groom paddle board and kayak across the pond to the dock!! While this would have been so much fun to watch, Mother Nature decided to rain on this ceremony which dictated a move to the 'Barn'. But alas, the clouds parted and the sun peaked out long enough to grab some photos at the dock. Like all things marriage, its a give and take. And speaking of photos, a very special Thank You goes out to Mallory Kaysen of kaysenphotos, (www.kaysenphotos.com), for all of these great pictures, thanks Mallory!!
