IBERICA 2013 continues this August in its second edition with early music from Spanish Medieval and Baroque sources. This Festival will feature rarely heard works by Antonio de Literes and Juan Manuel de la Puente as well as a cantata in Spanish by G.F.Handel. IBERICA 2012 begins this August with hot, humid, rocking and rolling early music from Spain, Portugal, the Diaspora and the colonies of the New World. This Festival will feature rarely heard works by great composers from the 17th and 18th centuries including Marin, Duron, Nebra, Literes, Gargallo and Castellanos. Love triangles from Opera and Zarzuela scenes, songs about Cupid, Sephardic liturgy and a cantata for Hoshana Rabbah, and the first oratorio in the Spanish language about the story of Joseph and his brothers. Here you can hear the ancestors of Latin music. From August 18 through 29 at churches and synagogues in Boston.
