Part 2: The plan.
Yesterday I introduced my self and gave my back ground on how I grew to love this sport. The more events I go to it’s clear that the drifting community is the best in all motorsports. Everyone is there to have fun and leave the track a better driver. When a car breaks or goes into the wall people are right there trying to get that car back on track, even if that means donating spare parts. New drivers come and you can tell people are there to help them excel by giving them knowledge, advice and helping get their car dialed in.

Living in the midlands is very limited on events to go to for some. It’s time for that to change. I want to bring the people together, show them the community, the culture and more importantly show everyone what drifting is about. Having people that have never been in a drift car going for their first ride along and getting to experience the sounds, the smells, and how the cars feel.

My plan over the next year is to start getting people interested, talking to people and find connections and companies that will support events. Once that is in place, then I will promise you I will find venues that we can have drift events at throughout the season. At first they may only be a cone course in a parking lot but you can’t run until you walk.

Let me give myself a little introduction on who I am and what I’m doing. My name is Nic, let’s take it back to 2004. My buddy Mike in high school went to Japan a few times always telling me about drifting and bringing back DVD’s like drift society. That had me hooked. Fast forward to 2005, first drift event and it was the Falken drift team with Vaughn Gitten Jr and Keisuke Hatakeyama (One of the all time best not to mention he is the driver in the civic. Yes you read that right) to name some of the drivers. I can recall that event like it was yesterday and from there on out I knew I had to be involved in this sport somehow. I picked up a 240sx and then moved away to college. I would still watch events as I could but in Wyoming there was no drift scene at all. Few years later I moved to Boise and was able to see some events here and there but life happens it was as if my drift dreams were slipping away. Moving back to Colorado, while I was an “average” fan going to some local events, watching FD and being a family man took a turn when we move to SC. I found one of my dream cars and I was able to purchase that all in the mean while kicking myself cause I want to be on track. Then came COVID. Then I found a track ready e46. Drove to Colorado to get and it was a flop. The day before I was to come home I found a mostly stock e36 (suspension and wheels). I was able to pick that car up and build it for the track. I have loved this sport for a long time, I will continue to love this sport for a long time.

Now, if you made it that far just wait for part two tomorrow! What I am putting into motion for us here in the midlands!

While this is not in SC but if you are wanting to see some of the best drivers in the country and your in TN, you should check this out!

ExciteGP Invitational 2024 at Polecat Training Center is here! Drivers from around the US and Canada are making the trip to drive the best motorsports facility in the southeast.

Driver spots are still available to all qualified drivers. We will accept cash at the gate for this event for late drivers. All media and driver emails will go out shortly.

Spectators are welcome all weekend for $30 with camping pass included! We highly recommend bringing a pit bike, golf cart, sxs, etc to get around the track and trails! Driving is from 9am-5pm both days. Food trucks and coffee trucks on site.
