Now that the snow has thawed (yes, you read that correctly - we had snow in Charleston!), we are ready for days of brighter florals and Spring weddings! The colors that D + N used for their wedding are as dreamy as they are. And what a wedding it was! Filled with so much love from family and friends who traveled from afar to celebrate these two! We are actually loving this time change and earlier sunsets. Hear me out. When wedding ceremonies take place between 4:00-5:00pm, this means that sunset will take place during cocktail hour - which is when the newlyweds are taking photos with their photographer and can get shots like this one. 👌🏼 Now our newlyweds don’t need to be pulled away during dinner/the reception to make this sunset shot. Thank you, Daylight Savings.

Determining where to place your cake table is bigger decision than you might think. Your cake table should be thoughtfully placed in a location that sets you up for great photos with a picturesque background, and also in a spot that is easy for all guests to see as you as you cut the cake with your newlywed. We kept all this in mind when coming up with the location for this cake table… and the photos from the cake cutting prove we were right. ✨

This money dance was hands down our favorite! There’s nothing more special than incorporating your family’s cultural traditions into your wedding… and this Tongan family did not hold back on culture!

This red and black rug belongs to the Brides family, and was used as the aisle runner for the ceremony, as well as the dance floor for this money dance. ♥️🖤

The bride’s niece performed this traditional Tongan dance as friends and family members threw money at her to show their adoration and support. The money was then gathered and presented to the bride and groom! Such a cool tradition, and we were so glad to be a part of it!

As a wedding coordinator, it’s our job to come up with a timeline (schedule) for the wedding day. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that when it comes to sticking to this schedule, it’s important to be flexible. I will tell you that about 95% of weddings don’t actually follow the timeline as planned (start late or get off schedule by a bit) and the schedule almost always needs adjusting day of. It’s also important to have good relationships with the other wedding vendors - and to work with them, not against them. Had we not adjusted our timeline to allow a little extra time for photos, then our friends at wouldn’t have snapped these money shots.

Timelines aren’t set in stone, their guidelines. Adjust them, without stress. Everyone wins.
