This money dance was hands down our favorite! There’s nothing more special than incorporating your family’s cultural traditions into your wedding… and this Tongan family did not hold back on culture!
This red and black rug belongs to the Brides family, and was used as the aisle runner for the ceremony, as well as the dance floor for this money dance. ♥️🖤
The bride’s niece performed this traditional Tongan dance as friends and family members threw money at her to show their adoration and support. The money was then gathered and presented to the bride and groom! Such a cool tradition, and we were so glad to be a part of it!

As a wedding coordinator, it’s our job to come up with a timeline (schedule) for the wedding day. One thing I’ve learned over the years is that when it comes to sticking to this schedule, it’s important to be flexible. I will tell you that about 95% of weddings don’t actually follow the timeline as planned (start late or get off schedule by a bit) and the schedule almost always needs adjusting day of. It’s also important to have good relationships with the other wedding vendors - and to work with them, not against them. Had we not adjusted our timeline to allow a little extra time for photos, then our friends at wouldn’t have snapped these money shots.
Timelines aren’t set in stone, their guidelines. Adjust them, without stress. Everyone wins.

One thing about weddings in the south is planning for the unpredictable rain and thunderstorms that pop up out of the blue. Luckily, there are several venues that offer indoor spaces without losing those incredible outdoor views. Large windows and covered patios help ensure that you won’t lose those outdoor views 👌🏼
When planning a southern wedding, consider the time of year you will be tying the knot and look at weather patterns surrounding your date from years past (including the weeks before and after your date). This plan isn’t full proof, but it definitely helps! Happy planning!

Not sure what to do with your veil after the ceremony? Once your photographer is done using it for photos, I like to use it as extra decor for your wedding! I’ll (very carefully) take your veil from you after you say “I do,” and use it to decorate the bride’s chair for the reception. It’s the little details that make all the difference (plus - this decor is multi functional 😉)

Yesterday’s place cards were hand painted oyster shells! Such a unique way to tie in the theme. Oysters were also served during cocktail hour. Oh, did I mention the bride made these herself? 👏🏼

It was my turn to play bridesmaid this past weekend! It was so much fun to watch my best friend from high school get married! Of course the planner in me also helped to keep the other girls on track with the wedding timeline 😝 I also had the privilege of throwing my bride-to-be sister a bridal shower in the same weekend! So much love to celebrate all around! 🤍🤍

Hey, it’s me Brittany! Professional dress fluffer, ceremony director (“ready, and walk”), lint taker offer, boutonnière pinner onner, door opener and closer, “stick to the timeline” reminder-er… all of this and more as a wedding planner! I love every aspect of my job, but this is probably my favorite moment of the whole process. I love directing the ceremony and watching the proud, loving smiles walk down the aisle (and also greeted by equally loving and joyful faces of guests). The moment right before the bride takes the first step with her dad/escort towards her forever partner in life, never fails to make me tear up! That right there is the best part of being a wedding planner.
