Downtown Charleston's last great waterfront estate has enchanted visitors to this idyllic setting for more than four centuries. Surrounded by 14

acres of live oak groves and scenic river views, this beautifully restored estate on the National Register of Historic Places is a graceful host to one-of-a-kind meetings, weddings, corporate receptions and private celebrations. The Main House showcases 1786-era architecture with period furnishings, an expansive piazza, grand lawn and sunlit terraces made of bluestone, brick and oyster tabby. Within this relaxed and refined setting, the scenic beauty of the Lowcountry highlights unrivaled sunset views along the waterfront. The rich history of the property spans a Revolutionary War invasion, the arrival of Charleston World’s Fair and a visit from President Theodore Roosevelt. Since 2007, Lowndes Grove has been lovingly preserved by Patrick Properties Hospitality Group, following its meticulous restoration in collaboration with a team of architects, artisans, landscape and interior designers. Alongside the 1786 Estate, the expansive grounds are also home to the more intimate River House.

Some weddings don't whisper. They make a statement. πŸ™Œ Miranda + Thomas' September soiree began with a River House wedding ceremony overlooking the Ashley River, framed by a myriad of overflowing blooms. Guests then made their way to Lowndes Grove for a reception bursting with color + texture, starting with dinner beneath the sailcloth tent. The reception featured larger-than-life details, including a hot pink circular bar and custom-made central light fixture above their custom-wrapped monogrammed dance floor! And when the sun went down, the party only got brighter, lighting up the tent with vibrant pinks + purples.
