F E A T U R E D โ€ข F R I D A Y // Today, we're excited to share Lauren + Chris' October soiree at Lowndes Grove! Since she was a girl, Lauren had dreamed of her Lowndes Grove wedding, as her Wagener ancestors actually owned the home in the 1800s after immigrating from Germany! The couple chose to tie the knot on a Sunday - an option that not only meant they could choose a date in their ideal month, but that also allowed for a full weekend of festivities leading up to the big day, including time for out-of-town guests to explore Charleston. With the lower costs a Sunday wedding offers, they were able to reallocate some of their investment for other fun, personalized touches (like the American Theater marquee message welcoming their guests to town!). After a morning of pampering, the bride met her groom at the stunning French Huguenot Church in downtown Charleston. Donning a beautiful Mark Ingram Atelier gown + family heirloom shoes - the very same her mother wore to marry her father - Lauren was the very vision of style and grace. Next, the newlyweds hopped on a vintage VW bus and headed to Lowndes Grove for cocktail hour, where servers were waiting with pork steam buns, mini orange chicken + waffles, and crab rangoon. After finding their tables, guests were then met with a very special handwritten note from the couple. Following dinner during the most perfect golden hour, guests all hit the dance floor. At the end of the night, L+C surprised their guests with some late night McDonald's... a personal fave of the groom! Overall, it was a day full of thoughtful, personal touches. Here's to the new Mr. + Mrs. ๐Ÿฅ‚

F E A T U R E D โ€ข F R I D A Y // This week, we're shining a spotlight on Ashton + Judson's jaw-dropping August soiree at Lowndes Grove! The couple kicked off the day with a breezy waterfront ceremony on the front lawn, shaded by live oaks and umbrellas. For cocktail hour, the guests all gathered by the Ashley River, greeted with the A+J's specialty cocktails, French 75s and Old Fashioneds, along with tasty hors d'oeuvres like crab cakes, seared sea scallops, and burrata with fig jam. The reception space, designed together with our very own Peninsula Events, was absolutely stunning! Soft, airy draping provided the perfect backdrop for the romantic golden chandeliers and oversized greenery centerpiece. The classic neutral beige + white tones along with gold accents created the very vision of a timeless wedding day dream. But once the dance floor started bumpin, the vibe was pure P A R T Y! And as a fun personal touch, Ashton surprised her groom, having customized 'Friends in Low Places' hats made for everyone (a nod to the groom's longtime love of the song) and handed them out just as the couple hopped on stage to serenade their guests with the Garth Brooks classic. Towards the end of the evening, guests refueled with fried chicken sliders before seeing the newlyweds off for their super romantic boat departure! Just another reason we love a summer wedding ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿค

F E A T U R E D โ€ข F R I D A Y // This week, we're excited to share Ali + Nick's beautiful fall stunner at Lowndes Grove! Absolutely crushing the elevated garden party vibe, the couple + their planner created a jaw-dropping setting full of vibrant sage green tones paired with blush hues. The POPS of bright florals tied it all together, with the dahlias absolutely stealing the show. Our favorite, though, was the care the couple put into ensuring the day included lots of special little details, beginning with the invitation suite that featured the couple's monogram, as well as their sweet pup! The monogram again made an appearance during cocktail hour where it adorned the white serving napkins. From there, A+N really made cocktail hour their own, with bourbon smash and paloma specialty cocktails passed alongside green personalized cocktail napkins. There were also personalized matchbooks + coozies to round it all out! For late night, it was time to pass the espresso martinis with an adorable coffee bean + cinnamon "M" stencil on top, followed by smash burgers + fried chicken sliders with UK Cats and VT Hokie mini flags in them as a nod to the couple's alma maters. And as a final cherry on top, the grounds of Lowndes Grove were absolutely drenched in one of the most jaw-dropping fall sunsets you could possibly ask for! Definitely a perfect ending to A+N's new beginning ๐Ÿฅ‚
