Every year on Memorial Day, we do the MURPH challenge to honor Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2005. The workout is a CrossFit “hero” WOD, or workout of the day, that’s meant to honor those who have served in the armed forces. 🇺🇸 A couple years ago, the kids joined us and it was amazing to share the experience with them. This year, we were asked by @palmettostatecrossfit to come bring Dolce Vita Charleston and our ice cream sandwiches for post workout treats. We already do the MURPH challenge yearly, so this was such an easy YES! 🙌🏼 The whole family did the MURPH today… (The kids were a little more modified)… But we did a 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 pushups and 300 squats followed by an additional 1 mile run) 🏃🏼‍♀️ 💦 We were so excited to be apart of this super welcoming gym’s event. They told Lieutenant Michael Murphy’s story and reminded us all that today was a day to truly honor those that served and sacrificed their lives for our great nation. 🇺🇸 Sooooo incredibly proud of my family… For doing hard things and showing respect to our soldiers… And so proud of our business to be able to be apart of something so awesome! 🇺🇸 #murphchallenge #murph #crossfit #palmettostatecrossfit #dolcevitachs #charlestonicecream #westashleyfitness #chsfit

Today, we got the opportunity to take Dolce Vita CHS and some amazing ice cream sandwiches to the @sharinghopesc National Donate Life Blue & Green Day! 💚💙We were so honored to be apart of this. We got to meet families of donor heros, donor recipients and the incredible staff. Loved every bit of the hearts of the people that work here. 🩷We also got to witness the raising of the flag at 1:08 representing the amount of people who can be saved by one donor.
