Well hello there!! πŸ’– Last time we spoke I was expecting our third baby...well little Frederick Allen arrived on the evening of Sunday, September 24th! It's been an adventure the last 4+ months navigating becoming a family of 5 so social media for my business fell to the back burner. While I don't promise I'll be super active on here still, know that I am here!

I'm working on FOUR weddings for this year! That's the most weddings I've helped since I was pregnant with my first baby boy in 2018 so needless to say I am excited. I have one Charleston 🌼 spring 🌼 wedding, one Maine β˜€οΈ summer β˜€οΈ wedding, one Maine πŸ‚ fall πŸ‚ wedding, and one Charleston πŸ¦ƒ fall πŸ¦ƒ wedding! So that means I need a 5th wedding in winter πŸ˜‰

My availability this year is pretty open this winter and then again July forward - it's on my website currently but I will share it on here sometime this week! πŸ—“οΈ

As always, I would love to help you execute your dream wedding or help you plan the perfect birthday party or anything in between 😊 Sharing my business with your friends and family is the best way for the people who need help to find it in me!! πŸ₯°

✨ Happy Planning and I hope this year has started out fabulous! ✨

We have already been thoroughly enjoying this last week of June and are excited for the fourth of July festivities happening all weekend! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‡πŸŽ† How about you?! Anything fun planned with family and/or friends this weekend?

We will be watching fireworks tonight (Friday) then spending another beautiful day at the lake on Saturday!

On a wedding related note - have you ever attended a 4th of July weekend wedding?! As you would assume, the color pallet is usually red, white, and blue and there are plenty of fireworks! I think I've mentioned it before, but my own parents got married on a boat in the harbor on the 4th πŸ₯°

I hope everyone has a happy and safe weekend! As always, happy planning! πŸ«ΆπŸ’

When you attend a wedding, are you a dancer πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί or a silent observer 😎? I have good news if you are in the latter group!!

Someone recently shared with me this super cool idea for the guests who aren't into the "party" aspect of the wedding reception! A board/card game table!! πŸŽ²β™Ÿβ³ I thought this idea was so fun - as my husband and I (as well as many of our friends) are lovers of games of all kinds - and I wish I had thought of it for our big day!

Ideas for games that could be included:
πŸ”₯ Cards - uno, five crowns, golf, skip bo, cards against humanity, heads up, sushi go, most likely to, the voting game, and regular decks of playing cards
πŸ”₯ Classics - scrabble, yahtzee, clue, parcheesi, checkers, chess, jenga, guess who, battleship, backgammon, the game of life, scattergories, and trivial pursuit
πŸ”₯ New(ish)- patchwork, codewords, coup, boss monster, wavelength, camel up, oregon trail, farkle, telestrations, and bananagrams
πŸ”₯ Kid friendly - chutes and ladders, hi-ho cherry-o, hungry hungry hippos, apples to apples, bingo, dixit, animal upon animal, and happy hopping

If you're a game player, what is your go-to for game night?!
Do you like the idea of having a game table for your non-dancing guests?!

Happy Planning!! And...happy gaming!! πŸ₯°

The last weekend of June already?! Well, it's officially summer now. β˜€οΈ We're in hurricane season here in South Carolina and the rain has been visiting us frequently. Did you know that because of the summer heat, many venues in Charleston are SLOWER during the peak summer months?!

As a wedding coordinator who is originally from the Northeast it's hard to wrap my brain around less weddings in July and August, but as a person who has lived in the south since 2018 I totally get it πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅

Whether you live in the south or not, what is your favorite way to beat the summer heat? πŸ„β€β™€οΈπŸŠβ€β™€οΈπŸš£β€β™€οΈπŸ– Since I'm a mom to two water loving kiddos, our hot summer days almost always include water (splash pad in the backyard, the ocean, or the lake) and popsicles! I personally love all of these things so I don't mind at all. Especially with this summer being spent growing another tiny human, you can be sure to find me either in the air conditioning or in the water! 🀰

Happy Planning and Happy Summer y'all!!

Wednesday's are blog days!! ✏

Head over to the blog today to read about fun ways to include important family members or the important people in your lives in your big day! πŸ₯° There are ways to include them that are obvious but also not so obvious ways. I touched on how I included mine in a post just before Father's Day, so I'll elaborate on those too.

Find the blog post here: https://www.chelseaevelynconsulting.com/blog

As always, happy planning! If I can help with absolutely anything please let me know, even if it's just answering a question or two ❀️

06/20/2023

I've seen some pretty fun new trends lately but one that I can TOTALLY get on board with - could be because I'm pregnant hehe - was shared by recently! A member of the bridal party - or perhaps just a flour person - handed out BAGUETTES before the wedding ceremony!! 🫢🀀πŸ₯–

Before I share why I love this idea, what do you think? Would you jump at the chance to have some fresh bread while you waited for the "I do's"? Perhaps - as Sarah commented on the reel - there can be a gluten free basket as well!

Okay so this is why I love it! Most of the time the ceremony takes place just after lunchtime or sometime in between lunch and dinner. Guests who like to get really dolled up may even have skipped lunch to get ready! So you're one of those guests sitting at the ceremony and you're like "shoot, I'm starving I can't wait for the cocktail hour!" You get to the cocktail hour and, while the snacks are lovely, you are still pretty hungry and are now counting down until dinner service. Now let's rewind to the ceremony, you're thinking "dang, I'm hungry" and all of a sudden a small baguette is offered to you! Talk about reading your mind!

Let's think about this a little more though! A lot of times couples get hung up on wedding favors, what if you presented your favors on the seats of the ceremony space and it included a small snack to tide your guests over?? There's a million and a half ways that you could make this into your very own to fit the vibe of your big day - and HOW FUN!

Anyways, let me help you plan your big day...baguettes or no baguettes, I promise to help make your big day BUTTER than you dreamed! πŸ˜‰πŸ₯–πŸ§ˆ

It's Father's Day weekend! 😊 I'm pretty blessed to have grown up with an amazing and loving dad as well as a fabulous bonus dad and many other fantastic father figures. I unfortunately lost my bonus dad in the Spring of 2022, but if it's taught me anything, it's just how much of an impact he made on my life and I'm so glad that my own children got to have a few years with him. My dad lives back in Maine so visits are once or twice a year, not nearly enough, but thank goodness for modern technology and video chat!

For my wedding I did a couple of things for my parents and bonus parents. I wrote them all individual letters, my dad gave me away but my bonus parents and my mum also gave their blessing, then I also danced at our reception with both my dad and my bonus dad (separate songs).

There are so many other fun ways to include your dad/father figure into your big day if you so choose which I would love to share with you on my blog at some point! (Of course I know that not everyone has a person of this description in their lives and there are lots of other fun things that you can do at your celebration that have nothing to do with parents of any kind! I'll write about it on the blog one of these days too.)

So, for those of you who celebrate a special dad or father figure this weekend...I hope it is filled with love and laughter! Everyone else, have a fabulous weekend too!

As always, happy planning! I hope to work with you soon πŸ₯°

On Wednesdays we write on To Have and To Blog! ✏️

This week I'm just updating my availability for the rest of 2023! As you may remember, we are adding a third baby to the family towards the end of September so we will be a bit busy adjusting to life as a family of 5 as well as some military separation periods.

On the blog I am re-sharing my post from the start of Spring, but in blog form! Check it out for the month to month availability for the rest of this year.

For most parts of the US, June through September is peak wedding season! πŸ’ Which makes sense because it's generally the most predictable when it comes to weather - and who doesn't want to make sure there isn't at least mostly sunshine on their big day 🌀

I will admit though, my husband and I got married the first weekend of May in midcoast Maine expecting it would hopefully not be raining and be at least a bit on the warmer side. We were unexpectedly surprised when it ended up being the HOTTEST day in May with highs in the 80's πŸ˜† Goes to show that no matter how much planning you do, anything could happen! 🫢 The important part, as I always tell my clients, is that at the end of the day you are married to your best friend and the rest is just a great story with awesome pictures and wonderful memories!

Snowy fall day, sunny winter day, hot spring day, or rainy summer day...no matter the weather I would love to help coordinate your big day! Virtual planning assistance and DIY guide available all year, limited in person coordination. Message me if you're interested in learning more!

As always, I'm here and I hope you have a very happy planning journey! πŸ₯°

Today - May 5th, 2023 - my husband and I celebrate 5 years of marriage! πŸ‘©β€β€οΈβ€πŸ‘¨ And, before you ask, no we didn't have tacos and tequila at our wedding - despite getting married on Cinco de Mayo. πŸ˜†

Normally we use the traditional guide to each year's gift for each other, but this year I got a spa day which was probably even better! πŸ’†β€β™€οΈ Do you know about the traditional and modern anniversary gifts? I believe I talked about them once before on my page but it's been ages.

I won't go through them all so let's just talk 5 year! The traditional theme for the fifth anniversary is wood. πŸͺ΅ So you could do something made of wood or something with a wood theme (for example if your spouse enjoys bourbon you could get them a bottles of Woodford Reserve or, for a more general option, you could go for some woodsy smelling soaps/perfumes/colognes/candles/etc!)

There is also a modern theme for each year if you prefer that route! The modern theme for the fifth anniversary is silverware. 🍴πŸ₯„ This is pretty self explanatory but could be interpreted in a number of different ways! You could just get your spouse new silverware - simple! OR, you could get art or jewelry made from silverware. If your spouse is a fan of wind chimes I've seen some gorgeous chimes made from antique silverware. If you're crafty you could even come up with your own twist on this theme!

What other unique ideas can you think of using either the modern or traditional theme? I think I'll make a whole blog post about the themes down the road!

Happy Planning - and may you be celebrating MANY MANY anniversaries together in the years to come! πŸ’πŸ«Ά

Thought I should re-introduce myself - again!

Hi! I'm Chelsea πŸ˜„ I've been officially working in the wedding industry - between Maine, Texas, and now South Carolina - since May 2016. I've been unofficially in the wedding industry for much longer and I also devoted studies to the industry in both my undergraduate schooling and graduate level schooling. πŸ€“

I'm a military wife and mother of - almost - 3! (Baby 3 due in September πŸ₯°) I'm the youngest of 4 amazing sisters!

Some fun facts:
✨ I love reading - but I usually only do it before bed and therefore only get a chapter in before I'm sleepy hehe. I do also love audiobooks and like to give the occasional podcast a try!
✨ I'm an amateur yogi and I love when my two toddlers try to join in! My 4-year-old is actually pretty good at some moves - probably to partial credit of his taekwondo lessons.
✨ This pregnancy I am obsessed with carrots and any sort of gummy candy - don't bring sour patch watermelon slices around me...I'll eat them all! πŸ˜‹
✨ My favorite "older" chick-flicks are The Wedding Planner (hehe obviously), How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Pride and Prejudice, and Love Actually.
✨ If I could up and move my family anywhere in the world it would be the coast of England. My mum is from there and my earliest memories are there, so it's truly a home away from home. Anyone need a travel wedding planner for their UK wedding?!?!
✨ I don't think I could ever live anywhere that I didn't at least have the option of visiting the ocean at the drop of a hat. I love that quote, "The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea"!

What else do you want to know?! Do we have anything in common? Ask or tell in the comments 😍

Happy Planning! πŸ’

Wow! Lots to say but let's start with hi!! πŸ‘‹ If you were wondering what happened to me and my little business the past few months, fear not...I am still here! My husband was underway (aka deployed) for a few months so I was focused on my current 2024 bride as well as doing all the mom things! πŸ₯° It was our first deployment and boy was it challenging at times (I'm going to do a special military related blog post soon) so my focus needed to go into life and work things other than my social media presence...I certainly hope you understand!

That being said I wanted to also take this time to discuss my availability the rest of the year. At this time I am currently open for booking weddings - or day of coordination - for the months of June and August (possibly even the first two weeks of September so if that applies to you please reach out). The rest of the year, however, I am going to have to close my books temporarily!

The first reason for this is that we are due to add baby number three to our family at the end of September! 🀰 The second being that my husband's schedule may not allow me to juggle any weddings (plus THREE munchkins) without his support through the end of the year. Once we have a more precise idea of his schedule I will be able to update my own availability. πŸ“š

That being said! My books are ALWAYS open for virtual consulting πŸ“– and for the sale of my Do-it-yourself guide! πŸ“¬ My inbox is open, so if you have a question πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ just ask! 😍

Happy Planning and Happy May! πŸ’πŸŒΌ

Looking for a planner/coordinator? πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ Found my business but worried about the distance between you and I? πŸ—ΊοΈ Well let me tell you, I would love to help you no matter where you are! ❀️

Maybe the distance means I just consult for you! That means I help you find your vendors (aka do all the research and send all the emails) without actually coming to do the week or weekend or day of the event. Maybe the distance means you pay my way to get to you for the week/weekend/day-of! Maybe that just means you buy my DIY Guide and chat a little. Or, maybe that means you support my business with a like (or a comment or a share) but I don't actually work for you. Any of these options helps me and my love of the business!!

No matter what you fit into, I'm happy you found me and I am grateful for your support!! If I can help your planning process in any way please do not hesitate to ask!! 😍

Toss the bouquet! πŸ’ I did! I don't know why I wanted to, but I just thought it was such a fun "traditional" game to play at my reception. Did you do it, or will you do it?!

I also really like blooper videos of a bouquet toss πŸ˜† Have you ever seen the ones where people duck out the way? Just a classic move! Hehe!

Do you know anyone who caught a bouquet and then DID end up being the next person to get married?! I personally do not, but how fun!

Let's toss away our bouquet of worries and stress and have a great weekend! See you next week and, you guessed it, happy planning πŸ₯°

Signature cocktails! Let's talk about it! πŸ₯‚

Not everyone will include alcohol with their celebrations, but if you are...this post is for you! πŸ₯³There's a lot of decisions to make when it comes to beverages you are going to offer for your cocktail hour and reception. One way that many couples reduce the cost of drinks - liquor especially - is offering limited options and/or including signature drinks!

Signature drinks can be your partner and your favorite wine, beer, or a liquor concoction! One for each of you or one that encapsulates you both. They options can also go along with your theme! For instance, if you are having a beach wedding your signature drinks might be a mai tai or a tequila sunrise. If you're having a rustic wedding it might be an old fashioned or a glass of your favorite red wine. The possibilities are endless and I absolutely love helping couples choose!

Tell me below if you had signature drinks at your wedding or if you plan to! Cheers 🍻 and Happy Planning! πŸ’

Since I posted about children and your big day yesterday, let's just briefly discuss other family members today! πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

I've mentioned before that just because it's "traditional" to do something does NOT mean that you have to do it for your event. No matter who might have objections *coughfamilycough* So stick by your decision to include, or not include, any particular person in your "official" wedding party. That DOES NOT mean that they can't have a special part in your wedding. They could help you get ready, or do a reading during the ceremony, or say a blessing before dinner service. There is a way to include them without having a million people in your bridal party! Of course you may have a small family and be able to include them all without it being overwhelming! Either way, I'm here to help you with either situation 😊

For my own wedding we chose to have no family members in our wedding party. 🫣 We made this decision because we didn't want anyone to feel left out and therefore didn't want to include everyone. We didn't have any flower children or ring bearers, just our besties up with us! We did the traditional father/daughter and mother/son dances, and I also danced with my bonus dad, as well as with both my mum and my bonus mum. I know! Lots of dancing!

What do you think?! Will all your siblings be involved? Nieces? Nephews? Cousins? Just you and your partner? Your besties? Tell me what you will do or did do!

Happy Planning - and I hope it's a simple choice! πŸ’

Happy Friday! Today I'm just sharing a favorite quote of mine. 🫢 I hope you have had a fabulous week and have an even more amazing weekend!

I wanted to share this quote today as much for myself as for you all. For me, a reminder for my husband as we move into a new season of our lives together. A reminder for you that no matter what, your wedding is about the fact that you and your partner have chosen each other so, at the end of the day, that's ALL that matters.

See you on Tuesday with a new blog post!

🎡 The first dance 🎢

Do you and your partner have a special song? Before my husband and I got married we were STUCK! We didn't have a special song so we both just started listening to LOTS of songs. We thought we had chosen a song but then we were watching The Flash (yes, the superhero TV show) and there's an episode with a wedding and we knew almost immediately that that was our song. πŸ₯°

So, tell me in the comments, did/do you already have a special song or will you be finding one together?

If you want to listen to the song we chose you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdMdA9LvJhM
