From a good friend - Words of wisdom & appreciation ✨
To my Facebook friends who appreciate flowers...
We are deep into the holiday season and hopefully you are considering flowers as a gift for family, friends or yourself.
Time is precious and you will soon be bombarded with media assaults urging you to buy from some "big box" store...a supermarket...or some cleverly disguised "1-800" outfit that sounds like a local florist (but really isn't).
If you want the absolute best, both in design & value, I urge you to remember that local florist that resides in your town. think about BUYING LOCAL. I've been in the floral industry for my entire adult life and my traditional retail florists need you to remember them this holiday.
The past few years have not been too kind for the traditional "brick & mortar" retail segment and those that remain are a resilient bunch that have withstood everything that the economy has thrown at them. Yet they are still standing and stand ready to enhance your holiday experience. These hard working guys & gals work 6+ days a week...and 10-12 hours a day is the norm for them.
When its decision time as to where you will spend your hard earned money, consider the traditional "brick & mortar" floral artist who resides in your town's main street. Yes, they are creative artists that can make wonderful design arrangements to make your gift stand out. They have been here for you for every significant occasion like births, proms, parties and even death. They are that "soft touch" that work with you for that donation request for your social or civic club. They are a group that start their day long before the sun comes up and close it long after the sun sets.
Please don't take the easy way out and buy your flowers while you are navigating your shopping cart through some supermarket....and above all, don't entrust your holiday order to a company that only exists in some distant call center with a name like 1-800 "something" or someone that will furnish you with flowers "in a box"...with some assembly required. Besides, there are normally enough hidden costs with those online order gathers to cause great pain to your pocket book
Wishing you the very best this holiday season.
And remember to make every bloomin' second count!
