Hey Y'all!!! So, if you haven't noticed I have an aversion to being in front of the camera 🫣😂 so you don't see many photos of me. But figured it is kinda necessary for an introduction post that I seem to be lacking.

Well, this is me! My name is Heather, the owner/lead designer for Fonté Fleur, a self proclaimed flower snob. I have been designing since the age of 14 (30 years!!!😳😂)
Across many markets in the US. I was blessed to grow my craft in Los Angeles for a number of years where I was able to work on high profile projects and for high profile clients.

I have been in the Charleston area for about 18 years cumulatively where I met my native Charlestonian husband of 20 years and raised my two beautiful daughters.

I'm so grateful to for my new headshot photos, after 8 years of exhausting my old ones, it was time for a fresh new look!

Flat lays have become a very popular trend over the last few years. Here's what you need to know from the florist perspective.... be sure to let your florist know that you'd like your photographer to capture these memories for you. Some florists provide these complimentary with your floral package (we do!) others will not provide them unless you order them. Be sure to check your proposal and see if they are there! Trust me as a florist we want to pull aside a collection of some of the most beautiful blooms - after your bouquet of course! With these detail shots we want to make sure that these blooms are photo perfect for your photographer! We don't want to be sifting through beat up left over blooms to find anything decent to use!

It was a weekend full of bright and happy yellow tones to celebrate MUSC events with !!! Maybe the bright yellows will have spring knocking!!! Thanks for the beautiful daffodils this week !!!

If you were to order flowers for your wedding or event and want some butter yellow tones, these would be my go to blooms!!! I got these in for a corporate event this week and am not disappointed that I did! Candlelight Roses are a perfectly creamy pale yellow. They have a high petal count and are one of the longest lasting roses on my favorites list. They curl open so majestically and are a consistent show stopper. They also have an amazing fragrance, adding to their overall appeal. As we all know, so many roses lack that beautiful fragrance anymore. Definitely a bloom to pick up or use given the opportunity. She's so pretty!!!

Got to get all spiffed up (for me anyway! 😂) and go check out the new venue at in Summerville! What a beautiful venue, and so lovely to see so many incredible wedding vendors in our community!! This venue is so beautiful on its own but could be really done up to make it extraordinary!!! Shout out to the florist who provided the flowers tonight , they were beautiful!!!

Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for Valentine's day wedding! The sun was shining just perfect lighting all day as you can see! There's always a special place in my heart for a floral installation on site. The sense of accomplishment and seeing all the pieces come together to bring the brides vision to life... Nothing better!!!!

Ok ladies, let's talk about the elephant in the room!!! The teeniest tiniest elephant ever.... Lily of the Valley.... oh I know, you want that delicate, lacy, iconic bouquet of royalty and status!!! It also smells lovely and sweet!! What's not so sweet is the price-tag that goes along with it.... I'm sure you're thinking "but it's so small how could it possibly be expensive?!" Well let me tell you!! ***Lily of the Valley has an extremely short growing season, pair that with having extra needy plants to care for to get them to bloom, top it off with them being fragile, delicate and a little finicky after harvest you have the recipe for $$$$!!!! ***This little baby is one single little perfect stem! And each stem can be anywhere between 4-6 inches long The next slide is a bouquet of about 20-25 stems... that bouquet, will run you $700-$850 and that's a petite little bouquet. *** also keep in mind that wholesalers do not guarantee the condition of blooms like these because they are so expensive and finicky in transport so even if they come in not looking so great, wilted, turning brown, they're yours and you're paying for them AND whatever you can find to replace them and if you're not in a major flower market area (New York, LA, San Francisco) you're going to be limited to what your local wholesaler has on hand! All this to say, I'm sure your florist would be happy to do this for you... just be aware of these challenges you and your florist will face, also talk to your florist and they should be able to provide you with some options that have that similar lacy delicate feel for a fraction of the price!!!
