He came into Chicago Animal Control in March as a lost dog, and now his time is up. Please help us find him a home, he is so sweet and gentle, loves to play with other dogs. He is a wonderful dog who deserves to live. Please send a message if you can foster or adopt.

228 days. 7 months in the shelter without a home. This girl is shutting down. Lucille desperately needs a home of her own. 😢

This girl is normally so full of life and love. She loves toys, but she LOVES humans way more. She thrives on social interaction. She is a Velcro dog that just wants to be close to her people. She loves to snuggle and give kisses and is a total couch potato.

Lucille loves her humans so much that it causes her anxiety to be away from them. And since she does not get along with other animals, she has to be kept in a separate part of the shelter away from them. We try our best to give her as much daily attention as we can, but a busy shelter environment makes that extremely difficult.

💊Our vet put Lucille on Fluoxetine. A medicine that is doing absolute wonders for her anxiety. She may or may not need to continue these meds after being adopted depending on how she responds to finally being in a home like she was used to before coming here. The meds are thankfully affordable at only about $25 ish per month.

Lucille is housetrained and crate trained. She is almost 5 years old and was used to living indoors. She does great on leash, except for when a squirrel crosses her path.😬 She does still love to play and is so fun! But she also is always down for a snuggle sesh on the couch! She even adores children!

Lucille’s ideal home will be one that doesn’t leave her home alone for long periods of time. That understands she will take time to adjust to a new routine and that will love her endlessly. Do you have no other animals and work from home? Stay at home parent? Retired? Split shifts with your partner? Then please please apply for this gorgeous girl.

Barn homes URGENTLY needed! We've been asked by a small animal control to rescue a number of feral cats whose time is running out in their shelter, but our barn cat program is already FULL of cats who need barn homes. We need to find barn homes for our existing cats fairly quickly to make space to rescue more!

If you've been thinking about getting some outdoor cats for rodent control, NOW IS THE TIME! Adopted 😀😀😀😀😀😀Please we have so many nice dogs at CACC who are getting killed everyday😢
We need help with sharing so they can get out and live a good life. Mia has been sitting in Chicago Animal Control for over a month and still no one will take her. She is so sweet and loving, enjoys playing with other dogs. She is friendly to all people, would make a wonderful family pet. She is about 3-4 years, spayed, ready to leave and no adoption fees this month. Please help Mia by sharing, she is a wonderful dog, and deserves to get out. She wants out so badly😢

He was picked up by Chicago Animal Control in December and can not be here any longer. He wants to be in a home, going on walks, playing with other dogs. He just wants to live his life! Urgent! We are begging for help to save Gypsy! She came into Chicago Animal control in November as a lost dog, she is smaller in size and is so sweet and gentle, she loves to learn new tricks and can sit and give paw. She is a volunteer favorite and really deserves a second chance to be loved. CACC is full and many dogs have been killed in the last few days. We are pleading for someone to adopt or foster Gypsy to save her life. She is a sensitive, smart, loving dog and she needs a home. Please Share to help Gypsy.

Scaredy cat alert! Schwartz is definitely not a cat, but he is scared. This big guy came in as a stray and is so sad, it's heartbreaking. He craves affection even though he's not sure who he can trust. Every day it seems Schwartz comes out of his shell a little more. He loves to be near his person and lean in for all the pets and cuddles. Schwartz would love to be in a loving home where he can gain confidence and learn he's not a scaredy cat, he's a big brave boy.

Came in as a stray on 2/20/24 and is available for rescue holds NOW, transferable on 2/23/24 at 7pm.

Adopted 😀😀😀😀😀😀Poor Chastity was surrendered by her owner to Chicago Animal Control because he lost his home and is living in his car. She is an extremely sweet, well trained dog, she only wants to be by your side and sit with you. She walks well, takes treats nicely, likes to be with other dogs. She will make the best family pet to a loving home. Please share so she can get out alive, the shelter is full and she was brought in the beginning of January. She needs out now.
