We are a full scale festival complete with arts and craft vendors from across the Southeast and a first class music line-up for the enjoyment of the diverse population that calls Charleston, MS and Tallahatchie County home. As we refined our vision for the festival we became aware of some of the issues that affect the people of the county, most notably, the poor state of health afflicting many of

our residents. We decided to turn that negative into a positive and use the festival as a staging ground, not just to bring an outside crowd to town for good food, shopping and music, but as a way to highlight and address some of these health problems. To that end, we tagged the festival “Food, Music and Healthy Living.”

What's that Gateway Planning team working on now? Just a few little things - confirming the music lineup, approving the t-shirt and poster designs, picking out the perfect kids zone inflatables and inviting new arts & crafts vendors! Just a few simple things on that to do list to ensure that GATEWAY 2024 is the best festival yet.

We are very excited to invite you to our Bake Sale, Lunch Sale and Silent Auction on Friday, May 10th from 10:00 to 2:00 at CARE. All proceeds from this event will benefit cancer patient Clay McFerrin. Bidding for our Silent Auction will begin at 10:00 and will end at 1:30.
The McFerrin Family has been an integral part of CARE for so many years. Clay, Krista, Kelsey, Ryan and Brandon have done many wonderful things for our organization. And, to continue their dedication to CARE – Harper and Beckett, Kelsey and Ryan’s children, attend all of our after school classes and were award winning artists in our recent Student Art Show.
So, how can you help??? Donate items for the Silent Auction or Bake Sale – nothing is too small. All donations are welcome and very much appreciated. (Thank you to everyone who has already committed items.) Join us that day to bid on the Silent Auction, buy lunch, or buy a delicious, sweet treat from the Bake Sale.

The Gateway Festival Team is already working hard again this year to provide an even bigger and better festival on October 12th. Send in your forms today for an arts/crafts vendor spot, food truck space or a class/family reunion tent space. (We are already starting to receive applications, and our spots will fill up quickly.)

Congratulations to our Gateway Festival Board Member Krista McFerrin. Krista is the winner of first place in Division D in the category of Best Institutional Ad for her Gateway to the Delta Festival full page ad in the Mississippi Press Association Better Advertising Contest. She also won first place for her Gateway creations Best Small Space Ad and Best Digital Ad.
