Overland South is South Carolina’s premier overlanding, camping, and off-roading event held biannually in the spring and fall, and our next event is March 6-9th. This family-friendly weekend camping event is held at the private, 5,000+ acre Woodlands Nature Reserve in Charleston, SC. Attendees arrive with camper vans, 4x4’s with rooftop tents, adventure bikes, RVs, or good old fashioned tents and pick their own campsite on a beautiful Lowcountry lake. With several lakes and over 40 miles of dirt roads and trails, our massive venue is open for exploration. Scheduled activities include the Birds of Prey Center’s flight demonstration, combat archery, Frisbee Dog demo, kids’ fossil hunt, mushroom foraging, offroading workshops, blackwater swamp ebike tours, raffles, night vision goggle demonstration. Our 4x4 Challenge Course is expanded every year and provides hours of entertainment for both drivers and spectators. Tickets available now at www.OverlandSouth.com.

Important Announcement: Kids Are Cool Family Festival Update

Due to the anticipated cold weather, we regret to announce the cancellation of the Kids Are Cool Family Festival scheduled for January 25, 2025.

We’re excited to invite you to join us for the next festival on April 12, 2025! Moving forward, we plan to host these events quarterly, with the goal of making them a huge celebration for families and kids.

The Woodlands Nature Reserve is a vast 6000 acre nature reserve including 11 lakes, a black swamp, and an abundance of natural beauty and wildlife. Situated just outside of Charleston, the privately owned property is one of the largest privately protected reserves in the area.

The Woodlands Nature Reserve is passionate about making the natural beauty and immersive outdoor experiences unique for its visitors in a way that honors the property by enriching both the land and those who experience it. We strive to accomplish this goal by pursuing best practices for the environment while establishing systems that make the Woodlands Nature Reserve financially sustainable.

Through camping opportunities, weddings, public & private events, and an array of recreational activities, the Woodlands Nature Reserve is a place meant to inspire and evoke a deep sense of enjoyment for the natural outdoors.
