With the new year in full swing, we thought it was the perfect time to re-introduce ourselves. And with that, welcome to the River House at Lowndes Grove! Perfect for occasions with 100 guests or fewer, the River House offers an intimate, easygoing space and a scenic waterfront backdrop with sweeping Ashley River views. The private venue is located on the lush grounds of historic Lowndes Grove, the last great waterfront estate on the Charleston peninsula. Nestled between centuries-old oak trees, this hidden gem feels worlds away. On the first level, an open floor plan with checkered black and white flooring features four sets of French doors that open onto the brick terrace and manicured lawns. Upstairs, you'll find two convenient guest suites, perfect for getting ready day-of. Steps away from the French doors, the oyster tabby is the ideal space for dinner, a tented reception, and/or dance floor!

F E A T U R E D • F R I D A Y // What do you do when the groom's family is from Louisiana, but you're getting married in Charleston? You bring NOLA to CHS! 🎭🎺👑 Last month, Abbie + Marcelo tied the knot in a River House wedding celebration paying homage to all things Mardi Gras. The day kicked off with a waterfront ceremony, the bridesmaids adorned in sage green and the groomsmen in black. For cocktail hour, guests were greeted with old fashioneds and mojitos, as well as yummy hors d'oeuvres like fried shrimp, mini chicken + waffles, and crispy pork belly. The sage green and black color scheme carried over to the tented reception area for dinner, where guests were treated with PPHG's signature synchronized serving just as golden hour made its debut over the water. Mardi Gras vibes started trickling in post-dinner with the cutting of the King Cake and the arrival of the Carnevale masks and beads! And things got really festive at the end of the night when the whole party joined in on the second line parade, holding handkerchiefs and parasols alongside the newlyweds as they made their exit! 🎺🎶
