Place settings 101
Let me just first say, this isn’t a strict recipe. This is just how my brain works, so maybe it’ll help you too!
PLACE SETTINGS 101:
1. Decide on a plate. - I like to do this first because it’s usually the largest piece and therefore the most focal point. Everything needs to coordinate around this.
2. Choose a fun napkin or charger/larger plate. - I usually do one or the other (especially for kids’ parties because the tables are smaller). I loveeeee finding a fun, themed napkin. This is usually the easiest way to sneak in a shape or something different than the typical square or rectangle. It’s an eye catcher moment.
3. Find complimentary utensils. - I usually only include the utensils that are actually needed, again because the size of the tables. The kids only needed forks for this party, so I focused on making those really fun.
4. Add in a fun detail. - this is the most important part in my opinion! Place settings are the perfect opportunity not only to personalize for your guests and make them feel special but also to include a favor and something fun for them to take home!
