Hello friends👋

No, babe is not here YET but today is my last day in my studio so I wanted to post an update for the time I’ll be away! Planning to take the month of February to get to know my new dude and spend time with family - so I’ll be back to regular scheduled programming at the end of the month💚

✨My shop will remain open so you can still snag all your printmaking goodies! Stock has been updated with only ready to ship items so everything will be shipped out nice and quick! Anything that is sold out will be restocked upon my return - if there’s something you’ve been waiting to grab make sure to message me and I can add that to the top of the print list! 💚

✨Pausing all custom orders like stamps, flower deliveries, and pet portraits. These will be available again starting in March!

✨For those waiting for the next block printmaking workshop- I’m hoping for one in either March or June! Will announce once I know for sure!

🌸 To all my current booked couples, you are still my top priority! If you have any questions or updates shoot me an email and I’ll get back to you ASAP! Please just expect a slight delay in the first couple weeks of February. May brides, look out for an email in the next week or so to schedule our 3 month meeting!

A moment for these beautiful purples 💜🤍✨

Looking back on this palette and this stunning day is getting me so excited for my wedding season starting back up in April! It cannot come soon enough and I’m so stoked to create florals for my beautiful couples on their big days!

Maybe it’s the two sunny days we had in a row getting me pumped for spring, or maybe it’s all the colorful florals coming up- but it can’t come soon enough!! 💚

Part of my 2025 goals are to just allow myself to play a little bit more 🌼 especially with flowers.

Hoping to experiment with different color palettes, varieties, and whatever else pops up and inspires me! 💚 Hoping this little exercise of creating just for myself will help me design things I normally wouldn’t try and maybe even surprise myself!

This was always one of the fun parts of working in a retail shop. Most days we got loads of designer’s choice arrangements which let me try new things or challenge me to use flowers outside my comfort zone.

So enjoy a sweet little wedding set I made this week to start off this new practice with! 💚🤍 Not really sure how I feel about the bouquets but that’s okay 😊

Besides, River decided to tear them all apart this morning while I stepped away for a minute so here we are 🫣 Glad I snapped a couple pictures at least!

The month of love is quickly approaching and I’ve got just the thing to spice up your kitchen decor ♥️💜💕

These cutie candy heart tea towels add the sweetest pop of color during winter to get a bit more festive! I’m all about simple holiday decor touches vs a whole revamp! And just a simple towel swap makes it super easy! 🌸🙌🏻

✨Each towel is hand printed using hand carved stamps with sweet messages on each one. Love how vibrant they turned out!

I’m in a creative block 🫣

I keep picking up my sketchbook to draw, try to get some scribbles on the page and it feels like pulling teeth. None of my ideas or WIPs from months ago are inspiring me or make me want to just do the thing.

It’s been a few months of this in all honesty aside from some random sticker ideas that excited me. 😞

Then I remembered while I was pregnant with River I didn’t print, draw, carve, or do anything for 9 months. Honestly I decided to give my corporate job a solid try to be a “career woman” who loved working in an office. That didn’t work.

In this pregnancy:

💚My favorite block of all time was drawn, carved, and printed. Then reprinted, and reprinted more bc it’s been so well received.

💚 A majority of weddings I have done this year have been while pregnant and I get so much joy and a huge creative outlet from it.

💚 I’ve done countless pop ups, consultations, and feel like so much of my energy has gone to more production of prints I have already designed.

My body is going through a lot, my family is about to go through a massive change, and I’m TIRED 🥱

And that is okay. I feel like if I’m not constantly producing new art, my business is going to fail or I’m not a “real” artist- whatever that means.

But to be honest, these last couple weeks I have been putting a lot of focus on my couples and upcoming weddings and it really fulfills me.

All this to say is that the last few weeks I was really beating myself up. But today, I’m okay with not wanting to draw right now. It’ll come back when I’m ready and stop making it work rather than fun.

Being pregnant is such a mind game. Society makes you feel less than if you need more rest, or you can’t do as much. So you power through the exhaustion, sadness, anxiety, pressures. That if you ask for help or say you can’t do something you’re weak, lazy, or lying. When truly, it’s just giving your body the space you need to create a human.

I’m so proud of how far my business has come this past year and so excited for what’s to come. But for the next few weeks, I’m going to let printmaking come when it wants to come. Getting rid of the pressure. 💚

This space has been a loooonnnggggg time coming and I’m finally pretty happy with the layout. 🙌🏻☺️

We bought this house July 2023 and one big upgrade we needed from our first house was a dedicated studio space. In our first home I was using our dining room and it was kind of any eye sore ngl.

Then flash forward to 1.5 years later, I had already outgrown this space and was back to my dining room. This meant I had supplies all over the downstairs constantly, my studio became a storage closet (a messy one, I might add), and it was hard to turn off at the end of the day.

So we finally turned the garage into more storage and put only the things I need to create both for printmaking and floral in my studio. She’s all clean, everything has a place, and I can stay a bit more organized and on task!

Only other upgrades on my to do list is to install some shelving to hold wedding florals and to hang some more art on the walls! 🛠️

Probably doesn’t look like much, but you wouldn’t even want to see the before 🫣😂

2024 👰‍♀️ Bridal Bouquets 💐

This year I had the absolute most amazing time creating flowers for 9 different weddings! Each and every couple was so different and the bouquets really represent that 💚

So thankful for the trust put in me to help make such an important day happen even if it’s a small part 🥰

So excited for 2025, with 18 weddings on the books! So excited to be part of these love stories 💚

Now that my market season is officially over, I am looking back on 2024 with an insane amount of gratitude 🥰

Thought I’d share some of my biggest takeaways from the year and some goals I have set for myself in 2025! 💚💚💚

I am so incredibly thankful for the folks who have supported this dream by shopping, allowing me to be your florist, sharing, attending a workshop, or spent some time chatting at a market with me. ✨

I’ve had the honor of being in business full time for a little over a year now and cannot imagine life any differently. Getting to be home with my baby and having a flexible lifestyle that also brings me so much human connection from the amazing people of Charlotte has no words to describe.

Now that I have a bit more confidence in myself and my business I’m also learning where I can ask for help. So 2025 is for setting up a better work life balance and having more intentional workdays. ⏰

Taking the rest of the year to enjoy my tiny family before it grows a tiny bit more! January will be full of prep work before maternity leave in February and March, then back in full force come April!

But not going to lie, I know who I am and will probably still see you at a pop up or two in February and March 🫣

🎉WORKSHOPS ARE BACK!!!🎉

I know it’s been a while, but I’m finally bringing this class back in the new year! For those of you who have been asking for it, I’m going to be doing one more class before going on maternity leave so make sure to get a ticket!

In this class, I teach you all the ins and outs of making your own block print! Prepare to come and get creative, learn a new hobby to obsess over and get a little inky 🎨

Floral arch installations are one of my faves - mostly because it’s a fun mix of creativity, problem solving, time management, and planning ahead. 🌸

Generally I’m building these on site with a countdown to ceremony or first look time and leaving enough time for the photographer to snap some photos of it. While also making sure it’s not so early that the flowers won’t hold up depending on the weather situation.⏰

The problem solving comes in from figuring out what mechanics will work out best for what I’m planning! This generally means bringing in more items in my tool bag to make sure I’ve got what I need to get everything secured! Most times I’m not seeing an arch in person until the day of so prep work definitely helps to make this set go smoothly!🙋🏻‍♀️

🎉Finally, my favorite part is bringing a design together that was imagined with the couple months ahead of time! I like to have a general plan for shape and style, but then on the day of I choose the flowers that fit our vibe and will hold up the best! I generally also make sure to order extra flowers to make sure I have enough in case it’d look better with a few more blooms or something breaks. 🫣

Floral arches are a perfect way to get lots of visual impact for your ceremony! And depending on the mechanics and the plan for your big day we often reuse the whole arch or just the flowers for the reception too! Win win win!!

It may not be the season for blueberries 🫐 but these sweet babes still make a perfect gift year round- including for the holidays!

These puppies are hand dyed, then hand printed using a hand carved stamp! 🔪

Worried about the ink fading? Fear not, I use fabric ink that is able to be machine washed so you can use this for years to come! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Not going to lie I was dragging my feet on this one 😳 The last multi layered block print was my Paddlin’ print and it caused many a misprint due to all the layers so this time I wanted to try a new transfer technique 🤗 This was my first test print and I’m super happy with how it all turned out! There’s something special about the signing process of printmaking. Getting to take a look at each print individually and seeing how there is differences in the paper, variations in the ink, or a touch of noise that makes each one a bit more unique. This part of clean up is my favorite - scraping up all the ink that has started to dry. 🤓 This really only happens with the fabric ink or water soluble inks since both dry out relatively quickly if not being moved around.
