Join us for an Unsilent Night! Included in the closing of Nutrient Rich this Friday (6-9pm), we have a special sound walk you can participate in. ✨ More information provided below:

Composed in 1992, Unsilent Night, a multi-track electronic ambient piece, has become a beloved holiday tradition for people around the world. All audience members should bring a bluetooth speaker(s) and a charged smartphone in order to create a roving sound wash. Apple cider will be provided prior to the performance.

Join us for an evening of poetry as voices from Asheville and Charlotte, NC, come together to explore themes of grief, reconciliation, identity, and the complexities of the South. This poetry reading is a response to the impact of human and natural disasters and the resilience of Western Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

The evening will feature poetry from authors:

We’re excited for another year of Nutrient Rich, our annual small works show! Just in time for the holiday season. ✨✨ You can purchase works by GYA Collective Artists and community friends. will also be having their album release party opening night!

December 5th from 7-9pm we will host a donor appreciation preview of the show with tasty soup provided by of Nourish fame, complimentary drinks, custom-made gifts (while supplies last), and a DJ set by ⚡️New Patreon members can attend! Join us this Saturday for the workshop Landscape of Embodiment with ‼️
The Imaginative Series is an open movement research platform for people who are interested in discovering deeper nuances in their craft. The afternoon includes movement-based scores for improvisation and performance, a screening of Amanda’s work on Nederlands Dans Theater, and culminates in an informal showing of our collective creation. This work is for actors, poets, musicians, therapists, dancers - an all inclusive experience for any level. Register at the link in bio or via QR code on the poster image. We are excited to announce Bread & Puppet Theater will be stopping by Goodyear Arts on Tuesday, November 26th! Charlotte is a stop on their latest tour, traveling from Vermont to Atlanta and back! This tour presents a double bill, directed by Peter Schumann, crafted for this exact moment: The Possibilitarian Imperative Everything Show, followed by Gray Lady Cantata #9.

If you’re not familiar with the shows will include puppets large and small, music, up-to-the-minute politics, and spectacles not to be missed. After the show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli, and Bread & Puppet’s “Cheap Art” – books, posters, postcards, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale.

Stay tuned for more details leading up to the show. It’s exciting how much we have going on as 2024 comes to a close. Mark your calendars and don’t miss it!

Goodyear Arts is excited to present North Carolina’s only experimental film series, Wavelengths: Classic Experimental Films Sponsored by

This series will consist of six screenings starting on Saturday, October 26th! All films are rare, 16mm celluloid projections that aren’t streaming.

Poetry workshop alert✨🖋️✨Join us for an evening of poetry and delights with Amie Whittemore on Tuesday, 10/8 from 6:30-8pm 🍃🍁

“Delighting in Writing & Writing Delight”
It can be hard to hold on to delight in our writing practice, especially when we feel pressure to write better, write more often, and write about Important Things (however we might define them). By reading and discussing poems that encounter delight from a variety of angles, we’ll explore what delights us and how to better integrate delight into our writing. We’ll also practice delight together through a short generative writing exercise and opportunity to share.

Amie Whittemore (she/her) is the author of three poetry collections, most recently Nest of Matches (Autumn House Press). She was the 2020-2021 Poet Laureate of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow. Her poems have won multiple awards, including a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Prize, and her poems and prose have appeared in The Gettysburg Review, Nashville Review, Smartish Pace, Pleiades, and elsewhere. She teaches creative writing at Eastern Illinois University.

Inspired by gothic literature, classic horror film icons, and cosplay culture, Doomsday & Night: In The Shadows is a visual and performance art exhibition exploring the timeless allure of the uncanny, the darker side of pop culture, and celebration of the macabre.
