this was a first for us: a luxury funeral. I’ve been going through my own s$;! with my dad over the last year and moving home to south Florida, but when our client reached out to tell us of her dad’s passing and wanting IRIS blossom for his celebration of life at St. Gabriel’s in Charlotte, I empathized so much sadness. That’s until she asked for bright and bold and fun. They wanted their guests to feel her dad shining, not mourning. I was happy to give him the send off he deserved. My team really pulled this one together in one of the fastest on-sites we had to accomplish. I hope that Mr. Wonderful loved every bit of the chaos and beauty that entered the church and Quail Hollow that day.

last week at with was a timeeee. I spent two days showing aspiring luxury event designers that luxury comes in allllll shapes and sizes. Sometimes I feel so much imposter syndrome or don’t feel myself as an artist or that I don’t understand why people show up to hear me or follow little old me, but I’ve learned a few things navigating this space as a creative business owner: I AM AN ARTIST I’VE ALWAYS BEEN AN ARTIST I’M UNIQUELY MYSELF I PROVIDE AUTHENTICITY I LOVE WHAT I DO I’M MOLDING A NEW GENERATION OF ARTISTS AND I GOT THIS AND ITS BIG BUSINESS ‼️ let that be the lesson!

GROOVY, BABY! 🪩🌸 our first ever Miami event was a smash hit: a baby shower for one of my very best friends where we adorned an intimate space with showstopping floral. High and low centerpieces, backdrop florals, misc and bud vases, and a 12’ hanging installation complete with balloons from overfilled the space! I was the florist, event designer, emcee, delivery person, coordinator, friend and confidant for this event and am so pleased for it going off without a hitch. I can’t wait to show you what else we have been cooking up. What an introduction into our new event market. Book IRIS blossom if you’re looking to take it up a notch ;)

Happy National Flower Day! IRIS blossom takes Indianapolis for Art in Bloom 2024 at , executing the incomparable “Diabolo” by Joan Mitchell with a showstopping installation titled “Relocation”. Sometimes, I get scared for this business. I get so stressed out, and it’s been such a labor because I love it so much. I have multiple businesses. I’ve been an artist since I was born. But IRIS blossom has always been what I consider my catalyst to marry what I love about entrepreneurship and art; the stepping stone that’s going to get me to my finish line. I love IRIS blossom. I love all the support I’ve received for what was once a for-no-reason Instagram account and is now BIG BUSINESS. I love all of our supporters, strangers on the internet and friends. I love every client I’ve ever had. I have made thousands of orders now, many alone, but in recent with a team, and I remember EVERY SINGLE CLIENT AND ARRANGEMENT THAT HAS GONE OUT MY DOOR. There isn’t a single one I haven’t touched with my eyes. That’s how important this business is to me. I didn’t think I’d wake up and cry on a Friday morning but when I see my grandma come up in an article from a global magazine after cutting sugar cane for 40 years like a slave in Trinidad to what I’ve made from ART, that’s the art I want to show. That’s black history. That’s what I want to inspire. That’s who I am as an artist. I put in the work and people are taking notice. Keep watching, because IRIS blossom is here to stay. IRIS blossom is only the beginning. We’re still blossoming. We’re paving the way for new floral artists to find their own. Marquita’s 40th Birthday Beyoncé extravaganza was an event for the books! Who else celebrates in style like this?! This rounded out our 2023 event season and boy was it a good one. So glad to be a part of this vendor team to bring .soiree vision to life for her client, (and make the birthday girl smile BIG)! Loved taking the idea of this theme and the color palette and running with it. I think it was giving if I say so myself. All I can say is I wish I was a damn attendee of this one, they had people hanging from the ceiling and two stories worth of fun! Shout out Margo from for assisting me when my team was on holiday. This event also brought Becca out of event retirement and she helped me with set up! The band is back together 🥹 Man do we have a year planned for y’all!

we’ve been waiting months to announce this as we tried to get logistics in place, finalize details, and figure out sooooo much stuff, but the time is NOW. IRIS blossom CHARLOTTE is still FULLY functional, capable, and fulfilling bespoke retail orders and events as we did for the last 3+ years; we just have more blossoms to give. More to be announced soon, but I think it’s about time you knew what has taken me so far from social media for the last few months. We can’t wait to serve old clients and new ones alike.
