Just got the mockups back for our first issue of BRIDE Magazine, and absolutely loving how things are looking.

A decade ago, I published my first book. Ten years later, I'm proud to have created this magazine resource for planning brides, and a continuation of my lifelong interest in writing.

This magazine was written, edited and designed by me. Photography is all mine, with just a select few images from my best friend Jordan Pierce. I interviewed more than 15 local Charlotte and Philadelphia wedding experts for the articles, many of whom I've personally worked with for years.

It's also been exciting to do press around our launch. It was awesome recording for the The Best of LKN and The Best of Charlotte podcasts last week, and we look forward to telling our story on the The Charlotte Ledger podcast next week!

Truly beyond thrilled to announce this. This is a full-circle moment for me that brings together my background in journalism, passion for photography, and expertise in weddings.

This May, I'll release the very first issue of a brand-new annual wedding publication, entitled "BRIDE Magazine." The inaugural edition offers a comprehensive planning guide to planning couples, and features my imagery and writing alongside interviews with 15+ fellow wedding industry veterans.

It greatly excites me to have created a helpful planning resource that will help streamline vendor selection and wedding planning for so many.

The magazine will be digital-first (free also), but also will be offered in physical print format on a limited run basis.

I am the owner of Robert Burns II Photography. We're growing to the point where we need to bring a part-time assistant on. We do have occasional needs for second shooters, but we already have a core team of 2nds we work with.

What I'm hiring for today is an ASSISTANT role. If you're looking for consistent pay, reach out.

- No experience necessary
- Some heavy lifting at times
- Some hot days (Carolina weddings in Spring/Summer, just comes with the territory)
- Recurring booking potential
- Zero tolerance on no-show behavior.

Pretty much, you'll drive with me to the wedding/event, and you'll be paid/fed. Your job is to move lights, help keep an eye on our gear, and help in any way possible.

Compensation
You can expect compensation along these lines. Long days - $25/hr with 6-hour minimum. Shorter days - $200 minimum.

Been meaning to post this for weeks, just haven't gotten around to it. I'm looking for a specific type of person.

My business has had a lot of growth lately, and I have a lot of dates I need help with, both second shooting and BTS work. Weddings are spread around Charlotte, Concord, Statesville, Asheville, etc.

I want to hire someone who doesn't mind FILMING BTS content from weddings my team shoots (photos/video). Note: you will also have the opportunity to build your portfolio while doing this, working with the Bride, etc.

I realize this isn't for everyone, especially those that are a little more established. But if you're newer and want to assist in building someone else's brand, possibly learn, this would be a good fit.

Pay Discussion
Second Shooting Video weddings pay $50-100/hr DOE, generally capping at about 6 hours since I sometimes shoot alone.
BTS Pay is DOE but would be $30-50/hr, with you coming in for 2-3 hours, shooting on my cards, and handing over footage.

OR we can discuss you Filming AND Editing short 1-2 min BTS videos (I can provide examples). Looking for long-term partnership not 1-time project.. I do pay fair rates for you to take editing off my plate.
If travel's involved, I won't pay travel, but you can ride with me to the gig at no cost to you. I'll also buy a meal.

So I often just post the highlights from the day, but a lot of people doubt that a good wedding photographer will be able to nail EVERY. SINGLE. ASPECT of their day. They doubt they'll be able to truly "tell stories," through images alone. And for good reason -- many people can't.

Here's a gorgeous private mansion wedding that I had the privilege of shooting the day after Christmas. Ni'mah & Assani got married at the Grey Rock Mansion in Pikesville, MD, just outside of Baltimore. It was a bitterly cold day, but love braved the harsh elements and their day went off without a hitch!

***Also -- these photos are virtually un-edited***

Can I touch them up even more to make them really pop? Absolutely. (And do I, for the couple? Yes!) ...But just showing y'all what I can do with no Photoshop. 😉

A LOT of people are getting engaged, and inquiries are going crazy (great problem to have!) lately.

Whether you just got engaged and you two are planning engagement session soon & wedding for 2 years out, or you have a mid-2021 wedding you're trying to get your vendors lined up for -- I'm here for ALL of it.

Except March - May 2021 -- that's totally booked up, every single weekend. Holla at me early, guys. 😉
