FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT OUR SYSTEM.
This system has 6 15" tops, 4 dual 18" subs, and 10 single 18" subs.
Lots of DJs & novice production companies think adding a bunch of speakers help to increase volume and this is actually incorrect. Tops need to be placed high in the air to get those mids & highs above the crowd so that they can be heard. Having them so low like this will limit what those in the middle or back can hear because so much of the sound will be absorbed by the audience up front. The other issue is that the speakers being so close will cause comb filtering which basically means certain frequencies will cancel each other out thus causing audio to sound "muddy" or not as clear. With current technology there are line array speakers which are multiple speakers stacked vertically and have wider dispersion. This allows the tops to be aimed so that audio can be aimed front, middle, and back. This also minimizes comb filtering which will allow audio to be much clearer. You'll now notice production companies are going with line array systems when high volumes need to be reached over large areas and especially outdoors. Hope this helps you when selecting a sound company or DJ and you care about how your event sounds. Feel free to ask any questions.
