Can we normalize giving flowers for no reason? They are such a good way to say, “Hey! I’m thinking about you!” This is when I think dried flowers really shine. Since they don’t go bad for a very long time, the recipient will have them for a few years. A sweet reminder of who sent them and why 🥰

How to dry hydrangeas!
I love hydrangeas. They are showstoppers, but can be finicky.
When should you cut them? Very late into the season around late August-early September. The later the better. If you have a limelight hydrangea like these you might want to wait until the purple color develops more. You’ll know if you cut too early because they will look crunchy and wilted when they start to dry out. Unfortunately, you can’t tell by looking at them which ones are ready and which ones aren’t.
How do you dry them? These are one of the easiest flowers to dry. You simply snip them, place them in a vase or jar of fresh water, let them soak it up, and they will dry themselves! How easy is that?

Just finished this wedding bouquet for a sweet client of mine! I can’t tell you how good it makes me feel when people come to me to create the bouquet they will hold when they get married. This was a fun one to make too. I love using sorghum branches because of the way they move and flow. They add so much to a design.
In this bouquet there is:
Lavender
Blue Thistle
Eucalyptus Leaves
Baby’s Breath
Chrysanthemums
Pampas Grass
Nigella Pods
Sorghum Branches
Sapium Fruit Branches
Her fiancé loved the bouquet so much he asked if I could make him a boutonniere!
So grateful for the people I get to work with. They make this whole business worth having!
