Our Story

At Blue Light Ballroom, we strive to provide the most comprehensive social, show, and competitive ballroom dance instruction in central Virginia (with emphasis on the social!). Our staff of award-winning instructors love to bring out the best in their students, no matter what their goals are. We provide private instruction and group classes Monday through Saturday, and host dance socials every Friday evening. Our focus is the social dancer and we believe everybody can be a comfortable, confident dancer - regardless of age, level, preconceived notions, and natural ability. We also participate in ballroom dance pro-am competitions, mostly around the DC area. We work with lots of wedding couples looking to dance comfortably and confidently at their reception, as well as father/bride and mother/groom dances. Your first 45-minute introductory private lesson is FREE, so what are you waiting for?! The hardest step is the one through the door!

We love seeing our students shine. Whether it's a crowded floor at our Friday night practice party, or watching students win their heats at competitions, the thing that makes us the most proud is seeing progress and learning, in a fun, non-intimidating environment.
