THIS ONES FOR THE PLANNERS
NO SHADE BUT are you building your timelines like a jerk? 😂
Planning a wedding is complicated and figuring how long things take is truly an artform, but if you aren’t working with your creative partners, you’re setting yourself up for failure and everyone else up for frustration.
If you have trouble getting behind schedule on wedding day or you’re constantly frantic with timing, try this instead!
Before you make your clients wake up at the crack of dawn, ask your photo/video team what time they need everyone to be dressed and ready. (this may be for first look, portraits etc.) then back that up by 15 minutes and give your beauty team that time as the end of service time. Ask your beauty team what time they need to get started if they finish at that time. For example:
2:30pm - Fully dressed
3:00pm - First look
2:15pm - Beauty end time (there might even be more buffer if there are matching robe/pj photos, gift exchanges etc. so always check with your photog!)
Your beauty team knows their timing and usually also includes their own buffer time for services just in case someone has some last minute changes or gets locked in the bathroom 🥴
When your beauty team gives you the start time, you want to make sure everyone is there and ready to go by that time, face and hair prepped the way the beauty team requires.
If your start time is way too early because there are so many services, you can sometimes add another artist, but just check with your beauty team first!
Collaboration is the name of the game and always gets us to the finish line fast and fabulous!
