Fellow Music Lovers:

Chatham House Concerts is very happy to announce that John Carlini and Bill Robinson will be playing their annual holiday house concert at the Pitney residence on Saturday, December 14, 2019. John and Bill will be joined by Kevin McCarthy on bass. Since its release in 1995, John and Bill’s collection of holiday standards, “A Christmas Gift,” has been a family favorite.

Many of you have heard John here at Chatham House Concerts at least once. His guitar virtuosity, arrangements, and teaching are respected around the world, and we are lucky to hear him play in our “backyard.” John is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and the US Navy School of Music. He superseded guitarist Jerry Garcia and was music director and arranger for the groundbreaking David Grisman Quintet. John orchestrated and composed music for the DeLaurentiis film, King of the Gypsies, featuring jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. His recordings and orchestrations have been featured with Tony Rice, Don Stiernberg, Kronos, Turtle Island, the Tonight Show Orchestra, Jethro Burns, Ray Brown, and many others.

Velvet-toned Bill Robinson will join John for a fourth time to sing holiday and jazz standards. Bill began his musical career as a bass player. An accomplished singer, Bill went on to become a featured vocalist with the Lionel Hampton Band. Bill's voice tells a story with each song and compels one to listen--a talent usually associated with Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole.

The house concert begins promptly at 7 p.m. A $20 per person donation to the artists is requested. Seating is limited to 50 and will be reserved on a first-come basis. ‘Tis the season for holiday cheer so we’ll enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres during the intermission and you are welcome to bring a contribution. Please plan to bring your beverage of choice.

If you know other music lovers who would be interested but are currently unaware of our house concerts, please forward this invitation to them.

Our home is located at 54 Mountainview Road in Chatham, New Jersey. Our home telephone number is (973) 635-8923 and the email address is [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you!
