2024 Road to Nightfall Winners Showcased This Friday, June 28 on the Miller Park stage!
Nightfall will feature the local band PLVNET, this year’s Road to Nightfall winner, as the headliner at 8PM this Friday, with the runner-up band, In The Company of Wolves opening the show at 7PM.
ABOUT THE BANDS:
PLVNET beat out 30 over local bands during a six-night Road to Nightfall competition this Spring to win the headline position for this week’s Nightfall show. PLVNET (pronounced Planet) was founded in 2008 as the experimental side-project of a group of Chattanooga area musicians who had met when playing shows together in various other bands. Their goal was to have a truly collaborative environment where they could all flex some of their more eclectic creative muscles. The result has been a fresh but familiar brand of rock music that perspires influences ranging from 1970’s British rock to 1990’s American Alternative rock which earned them being optioned for sync licensing with MTV, ESPN and NASCAR.
PLVNET consists of six guys that write, record, perform and produce their own brand of alternative rock based on influences ranging from Muse to Radiohead, Beethoven to Tool. Releases include “Make Believe” (2012), “Syzygy” (2016) and the single “Mr. 2-Bits” (2022).
In the Company of Wolves, who placed second in the Road to Nightfall competition, won the opening act spot with a set from 7-7:40pm. In the Company of Wolves consists of Sydney and Brayden Guerrette, originally from Portland, Maine, now living in Chattanooga. They intertwine their love for music with a passion for storytelling, as they combine thought provoking lyrics with layered melodies. Nightfall this Friday, June 21!
Rising blues star, D.K. Harrell will headline at 8 PM on the Miller Plaza stage with his band this Friday, June 21, at Nightfall, Chattanooga’s longest-running free summer concert series. Local blues band, the Skip Cisto Band, will open the show at 7pm. In addition to featuring world class musicians each week, Nightfall features food trucks, local artisan vendors, kids’ activities and more.
In less than a year, 26-year-old D.K. Harrell has catapulted from a blues artist with promise to one of the most sought-after musicians in the blues realm. His debut record, The Right Man on Little Village, won immediate critical raves worldwide upon its release in June 2023 and became the second most-played blues album on U.S. radio in 2023. In 2024 he was honored as Best Emerging Artist in the prestigious Blues Music Awards celebration held by the Memphis-based Blues Foundation. He also will play a stream of major U.S. festivals this year play in 10 different countries.
Opening this week’s show with a 7pm set is blues rock band, the Skip Cisto Band. This Chattanooga power trio features Skip Cisto, whose guitar playing and vocals are the focal point of the band. Popular at local clubs and festivals, the band is known for playing raw, heartfelt blues that Include both covers and originals.
Special features at Nightfall this Friday include a visit by the Braves Country Road Trip, an experiential marketing activation where fans can come up, put on a jersey and grab a bat or helmet, and step up to the plate and create their very own customizable baseball card. They walk away with a physical card and some cool swag.
David Glen Andrews, known for his trombone talents as well as for being a cousin of Trombone Shorty, will headline at 8pm with his band this Friday, June 14, at Nightfall! Reggae soul artist, Bemi Allen, will open the show at 7pm.

Also at Nightfall this week will be a special display of 25 cars from Rally USA Tennessee on exhibit in Georgia Avenue from 6:30-8:30pm to serve as the ceremonial start for the 2024 Tennessee Rally USA being held on June 14-15 in Chattanooga and Polk County, Tennessee.

John “Papa” Gros Brings a New Orleans Party to Nightfall this Friday, June 7 at 8PM on the Miller Plaza stage! Island music by local band, Tropic Sõl, begins at 7pm.

Although the music starts on the Miller Plaza stage at 7pm, come early to take advantage of a new “Nightfall Happy Hour” offering weekly drink specials from 5:30-6:30pm.

The Nightfall weather prediction is out... nothing but blue skies, no humidity = BEAUTIFUL WEATHER is headed our way this Friday, May 31 with a headline performance by folk and Americana singer/songwriter Lilly Hiatt and her band on Friday at 8pm in Miller Plaza. Music by local duo, The Briars, begins at 7pm.
In addition to featuring world class musicians each week, Nightfall features food trucks, local artisan vendors, kids’ activities and and more. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, yard games, pets on a leash and enjoy Free Live Music!
NEW Happy Hour runs from 5:30 - 6:30 with $4 draft & can beers, $7 Tiki drinks, can cocktails, whiskey cocktails, and wine. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought into Nightfall since concession sales are a primary funder of Nightfall (outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited by law at Miller Park/Plaza).
Nightfall’s new layout will extend down M.L.King down to with Lindsay Street with a tasty variety of local food trucks, and include roller skating in the street by Dazey Skate Co. on Georgia Avenue in front of the Volunteer Building (bring your own skates a pay $5 or rent some on site for $10).
Georgia Avenue will offer free convenient parking for motorcycles (above Patten Parkway) and bicycles (below Patten Parkway), on the block north of M.L.King.

Banditos, an American six-piece rock and roll band that hails from Birmingham, Alabama, but is currently based out of Nashville. From backwoods bluegrass, to slinky nods to Muscle Shoals soul and unexpected bits of doo-wop sweetness, the band’s musical style is the culmination of several years of enduring friendships and a grueling touring schedule over the last three years.
Oweda, a popular rock and roll band based in Chattanooga. This five-piece band has been making music together since 2018, playing a soulful mixture of southern blues, sustained by indie melodies, whilst echoing the honesty of folk.
In addition to the great music, Nightfall features over 30 local artisans and a variety of local food trucks each week. Kids also enjoy the inflatable soccer field in Miller Park each week, thanks to the Chattanooga Football Club.

Bluegrass at Nightfall This Friday, July 7th! Featuring bluegrass aficionados “J2B2” – John Jorgensen Bluegrass Band as headliner at 8pm with The NEW Quintet as opener at 7pm.
J2B2 is an all-star bluegrass group featuring four legendary musicians: John Jorgenson on acoustic guitar, mandolin and vocals; Herb Pedersen on banjo, acoustic guitar and vocals; Mark Fain on bass; and Patrick Sauber on acoustic guitar and vocals. In 2008, Jorgenson won a Grammy for Best Country Instrumental with Brad Paisley, and was nominated for Best Bluegrass Album with Earl Scruggs.
Chattanooga acoustic band, The NEW Quintet will open the show at 7pm with songs and styles from traditional folk to ragtime, old-time and early country. .
Nightfall offers a variety of food from over a dozen local food trucks as well as beer, wine and cocktails each week. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought into Nightfall since concession sales are a primary funder of Nightfall.

2023 Road to Nightfall Winners Showcased This Friday!
Nightfall will feature Jason Lee Wilson & James County this year’s Road to Nightfall winner, as the headliner at 8pm on Friday, June 23, with the runner-up band, Interval opening the show at 7pm.
Jason Lee Wilson & James County beat out 30 over local bands during a six-night Road to Nightfall competition this Spring to win the headline position for this week’s Nightfall show. Raised in the legend-filled limestone land of Tennessee, Jason Lee Wilson naturally blends the spirit of the Old West with a little Southern influence for a refined mixture of rockabilly, traditional country, and gospel music. With his talented band, James County, he celebrates the stories and the land that shaped them along the way.
Interval, a Chattanooga band who placed second in the Road to Nightfall Competition, won the opening spot with a set from 7 – 7:40pm this week. Interval consists of three brothers and their two best friends who grew up doing 4-H together in the rural Sequatchie Valley. Self-taught musicians continually learning from each other, their eclectic influences span decades of music history and genres, including blues, progressive rock, electronica, and indie pop.
Road to Nightfall 2023 was Sponsored by T-Mobile and SoundCorps, a local not-for-profit dedicated to growing the music economy in the Chattanooga region. Road to Nightfall provides the opportunity to showcase and promote Chattanooga’s music scene and to expose the Chattanooga music market to some of our most promising new local bands.
