So awesome to have a great neighbor such as, Jo Kuehner. Her love of historic Chehalis shines brightly.

Over the years, as we restored our little piece of the past, Jo was celebrating her husband and family with her own restoration of the San Juan Apartments.

Ironically, both buildings were built by the St. John family near the turn of the century and acted as a Model-T showroom, Auto-repair and warehouse until 1919 when our building was transformed into a cinematic showcase and the San Juan apartments grew.

In the alleyway you can still see evidence of the shared heating duct that connects the building. What you cannot see is a secret tunnel that bores under the asphalt that connected an actors suite and the green room behind the Fox St. Helens theater stage.

From the concrete headers to the bricked-in warehouse arches, the two buildings have grown-up together and continue to celebrate a glorious PNW Past.

This what I found over 15 years ago and I knew Immediately, I was going to bring Fox St. Helens back to life. With original, Phoenix paintings as a backdrop, it was certainly a rise from the ashes.

As a collector of theater memorabilia, I was stoked when I found this at Earthwise Architectural Salvage in Seattle. Once adorning the ceiling of the Emerald Palace, the plaster stalactite demonstrates amazing artistry and opulence of the day.

Artists hand- crafted these Peacock Mirrors that frame our Chandeliers in the Ballroom. I can only imagine the time it took skillfully fashion each piece of wood and mirror to make such a decadent architectural dream.

The first floor bar is flanked by two Nineteenth Century ceremonial pieces that were once used in a wedding gazebo in India. The craftsmanship is stunning as each piece is covered with a thin layer of metal. Take notice of the painted numbers on the wall behind the arches. These were the stall numbers of the Model-T show room that existed before 1920.

This Ghost Sign was discovered in 2009 while restoring the building. It is now the backdrop of our upstairs bar at City Farm Chehalis. The "Bee-Nugget" was the town paper before the "Chronicle" was born.

With 10 bathrooms and 13 Toilets we got you covered at City Farm. Knowing it’s a bad idea to use your cell phone while visiting a public Loo we have filled our walls with original artwork to keep you occupied until you can wash your hands and return to the celebration.

One of the nearly fifty chandeliers that adorn the ceilings of both floors of City Farm Chehalis is Lucille Ball’s dining room beauty. One can only imagine the conversations she and Ricky had underneath the opulent crystals.

City Farm Chehalis celebrates the romance of the JHAROKHA in a grand fashion. Built in the 18th century, the Jharokha is a stone window projecting from a palace adding not only architectural beauty but it allowed women to see outside without being seen themselves. Ornately carved out of sandstone, the first floor center-piece provides the building a divine concept and remarkable elegance.

Following an ancient Scandinavian tradition, the threshold of City Farm is curved to keep evil spirits from entering the building. Mirrors on either side of the entrance are for guests to check their souls before they leave.

When you visit City Farm Chehalis take a moment to look at the vintage relics I found in the walls. From creepy dolls, welding glasses and even the fundamental pieces of a magicians box used to cut their assistant in half can be found just off the side of the main entrance.

From a Model-T showroom, to a Fox Theater, to a group of Independent Businesses and office spaces, City Farm has had a rich history.

Special thanks to the Chris Guenther Band and his tribute to Buddy Holly. It was a packed house and the poodles highlighted the dance floor. Super fun and a vintage blast for all.
