Great for bridal showers, party with friends or corporate events. Have always loved nature and flowers, big fan of dark chocolate, married to a fabulous handyman, currently in-between doggies.

I am told that I need to show my face once in a while, so here it is. This spring-y arrangement was made in March at , at a workshop with the creative and kind-hearted . The workshop was most excellent! .
And I have to say, that was a really good hair day!

I’m futzing/faffing with ground florals AKA meadow florals AKA meadow aisle flowers, to name just a few terms. The arrangement on the left should extend up further to be to scale with the moon-gate arch. But you get the gist, I hope. ...
These are versatile arrangements for weddings, as they can easily be moved after the ceremony, repurposed at the Sweetheart table, bar or Welcome table. It’s a smart use of your wedding flower funds!

Oval containers lend themselves to dramatic sweeping lines and asymmetrical arrangements. Perfect shape for a fireplace mantle or for farm/banquet tables. Oval designs can easily be extended with ivy or vines for more horizontal reach, or with branches for more vertical impact. Many possibilities!

Up close and personal with early summer flowers, including peonies, spray roses, lisianthus, mock orange blossoms, Solomon Seal, delphinium and pennycress. There are some homegrown fleurs in the mix. Love the pastels this time of year, they’re soothing and pretty!

We’re posting E’s bouquet kind of a lot today (sorry not sorry). As I looked through ‘s wedding photos, no matter how the bride held the bouquet, and from any angle, her bouquet always looked really good! Her colors and the flowers themselves were delightful.

More pics from the Design Intensive at last month. Sue McLeary ( ) demonstrated how to make these airy, infinitely adjustable bouquets. She is mad creative and a former jeweler, which shows in her meticulous and artful designs. ...
I had intended this piece as a small bouquet only, but Sue manipulated it into a very cool hairpiece. It was joyful to be around so many creative and skilled flower people!

Centerpiece made last month as part of the design intensive workshop held at . Sue McLeary (aka ) was the instructor. A more artistic, creative and kind-hearted person would be hard to find. Kudos to Green Mountain Floral Supply for hosting the workshop. We had lovely fleurs to work with. ...
I’m usually not a big fan of forsythia, but it really added some zing and good lines here. May have to reconsider my aversion to the color yellow.

More Easter Bunny closeups, including the species tulip Tulipa tarda (lower left). This little cutie has elegant star-shaped flowers, its bright yellow petals edged in white. The species tulips do come back year after year, unlike most hybridized tulips. Likewise the grape hyacinths (AKA muscari) are tough cuties, naturalizing and spreading every year. Love their sweet grape-y scent. Also shown in this photo are miniature daffodils, the perfect size for making flower posies. ...

Another vertical floral screen, but in a looser, freer style. Ingredients: flowering cherry, brownie tulips, delicately spotted hellebores, astrantia and weeping podocarpus. Lined bonsai dish as the container. ...
This design would work well on a Welcome table, bar arrangement, or on a fireplace mantle accompanied by pillar candles and a few bud vases. Light, airy and full of movement!

Spring is the time for p***y willows and flowering branches, which are *perfect* for making vertical floral screens. These arrangements give you the height and the negative space of branches, but with airy transparency. .
They work well on a welcome table, fireplace mantel, as a bar arrangement or as aisle florals. Many possibilities!

BTW, making floral crowns is a super fun workshop for a bridal shower, just sayin’! Also works as an in-between activity when there’s a chunk of time between the wedding ceremony and the reception.

Floral hairpieces add such a pretty touch for the bride or bridesmaids. Floral crowns have fallen out of favor for most brides, but floral combs and clips are still desired. They’re easier to wear, and add that pop of color and and grace. Uber-feminine, love ‘em! ...

Little close-up of the flowers in my arrangement at WAM’a Flora in Winter event . The blue tulips opened up beautifully, Lisette mums added their fab color, hyacinths shared their sweet scent. It is a beautiful show again, as always. Today is the last day, go see it!

Taking in the gorgeous beauty of hellebores and other spring pretties. This particular plum colored hellebore came from . I pick up a new hellebore plant every spring, cut some of the stems to use in arrangements, and plant it in my garden in late April or early May (Zone 6 in eastern MA) . Do this for a few years, and you will have a gorgeous hellebore patch soon enough...
I recently learned a new way to condition hellebores after watching a Joseph Massie video. He recommends making a thin incision on both sides of the hellebore stem below where the flowers branch off. This allows the hellebore to uptake more water and extends its vase life. It’s been working great for me, watch his video and try it!

You have to love how the flowers and leaves move and bob in the breeze. This “floor meadow” is at the base of a moon arch, which accentuates its curvilinear lines. .. .. (P.S. I don’t do reels, we are far too distracted these days. Enjoy the silence!).
