We are saddened by the loss of our Millie goat who passed over the weekend . 💔She was our very FIRST goat when we adopted her. We were never really super sure of her age, but we know she had a VERY long and happy life. We loved her sassiness and her playful horn hooks and chasing her around the farm. She was the BOSS lady in the goat yard and we will very much miss her. To Millie! 🥂🐐❤️

While the men are enjoying Men's Winter Weekend of Rejuvenation - 2025 tonight, I thought I would post a couple updates!

We turned the heat lamps on so farm fresh eggs are back on the menu! 🥚🥚 On our booking site you can add them to your booking so you can have the freshest eggs nearly straight from the coop for breakfast when you wake up.

Also, ❄️SNOWSHOeS ❄️are back on to rent! Bundle up the kids and kick them outside to burn off energy and find some enjoyment in these colder months while we have it! They can run around the barn waving at all the animals or for a bigger workout, hike the nature trail! Then invite them back in to warm up with some hot cocoa waiting. 🥰☕️🛖

**please note that all the sites are heated and clean bedding is provided!**

Also, the animals still love to visit and socialize even when it’s chilly

Wow! What a 2024! Every year just seems to get better here at Windy Goat! We started off the year being awarded 1st in Iowa on Hipcamp and one of the best places to stay in the US! 🎉🙏

We were excited to see some new gorgeous retreats and special events hosted here! From community picnics and art events, to wellness retreats, birthday parties, and live action DnD! It was also our second year for both the Hobbits and Elves; An Immersive Fantasy Retreat and The Faery Experience; An Immersive Fantasy Retreat, where we added more characters, more music, more art.. which in turn made for a beautiful turnout!

We opened our new Garden Bar 👨‍🌾🍅to our guests and the public this year for retreats, and special guest music nights. We gave away lots of organic garden produce 🍎 from our abundant garden, and served special drinks 🥂and brews 🍻 on beautiful summer evenings. It was simply blissful.

We added some fun new features to the sites and some new animals (rabbits🐰)! And some fun and hilarious new add-ons for farm stays.

We opened up to the opportunity for large groups to book all the sites and the whole 15 acres for their own events and gatherings, too!

We’ve met so many incredible, inspiring, and fun people through this crazy venture and we hope you all will join us and enjoy it with us for all of 2025, too! Here’s to another year of happiness, good health, and good humor.

We love all of you that chose to support this endeavor this past year and we thank you for staying, coming to events, interacting and sharing our posts, telling your friends about us, and helping to keep Iowa a lil weird 😉 and a good place to be! We see you and appreciate you 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

Our goal has always been to be a space for everyone to feel welcome and to enjoy and reconnect with nature, good people, animals, and themselves. 🧚‍♀️

Get creative with all the different candies and toppings from our holiday hot cocoa bar that we deliver to your warm yurt or cabin door. ☕️☕️

Start a campfire🔥, hike our luminary 🏮trail with lighted lanterns and candy canes along the way, then come back to warm up by the fire under the stars listening to the goats and owls🙂 Don’t forget to say hi to all the goats on your way!

Then settle in under the covers with more cocoa and stay up all night binge watching all the holiday classic movies we have collected for you.

We love this post and we love Travel Iowa’s support for our farmstay adventure endeavors!
Just fyi, the hobbit house is heated during winter months and will be open all year! We also rent out snowshoes for outdoor snow activities, and an old typewriter for hunkering down with your thoughts.

Looks like we just missed Small Business Saturday! Here to keep it going all year round, then!

☃We counted up the votes and the winner for the December package is the Holiday Glamping Package!! but if you were set on the photo session with cocktail hour, we just made that our January package! win-win!

⛄Yurts and cabins on a goat farm/sanctuary can be fun in all seasons (they are heated!) so we rolled right on into February with our new 90's package!!. 😂We all know the end of winter can get dreary, so we thought we'd create something fun to brighten things up for you, check it out!
