Posting a little end of summer bridal portrait shoot before it gets too wintery 😊

I’ve been under the weather for a few days with a classic -this time of year- cold 🤧 So I’m bingeing nostalgic/spooky movies and TV shows while editing. Currently in the last season of SATC which I’ve seen a million times but it feels good every time. If you have any must watches for this time of year, please share - It’s cozy soup vibes over here.

If you haven’t seen Mystic Pizza, please watch it. As someone from CT I can’t believe I only just saw it for the first time a couple weeks ago.

Mike and I were on a kick of watching older movies and we were in that genre and he couldn’t believe I hadn’t seen it. It’s so good and it’s so fun to see them walking and driving around the streets of Mystic.

This was a weekend for the books. Angad and Erica’s rehearsal dinner with absolutely perfect weather, friends and family gathered at a Long Island family property Friday, the Indian celebration with the most amazing Baraat on Saturday, and finally into this beautiful American wedding on Sunday. The vibes were up and we truly had the best time.

The beauty I’ve been able to capture the past few weeks is really insane. I wish I was better at staying on top of social media just so everyone could see.

I have that thing where I over analyze if I’m posting the perfect picture or at the perfect time or what the caption should be and then become paralyzed with all the thoughts I just post nothing at all 🙃 it’s fun. But we are out here! We’re shooting 📸, we’re living and loving and laughing 🤙🏼

We’ve got one more day of celebration for Erica and Angad and so far it’s been truly a pleasure to be a part of. I say it every time I shoot a non-American wedding but the ceremonies and traditions are truly breathtaking.

Friday was wonderful, Saturday was gorgeous, and now we’re gearing up for Sunday, the American wedding celebration, and I can’t wait to see everyone on that dance floor 🫶🏼

Anytime I shoot a proposal I get such butterflies in my stomach, so nervous for every little detail and the timing and always saying the right things 💕 I was really proud of Ryan though, as nervous I am capturing it, they have to be 10x more nervous and he executed it with such grace and composure.

It’s not trending but I recently resurfaced this song because it will never ever get old. A) because Sam Smith is amazing and B) because it was mine and Mikes wedding song and it’s just tooooo good.

Melissa & James | Hoboken 💕

One thing I pride myself on, truly, is how many grooms I get to say they “actually had a lot of fun” at the shoot after they were maybe nervous or even dreading it.

Listen, not a lot of people like having their photo taken. It’s very rare that my couples say “we love it!” It’s way more common that they say, “eh I don’t mind” or “I don’t love it…” or “I hate it 🙃”

I definitely asked James to step out of his comfort zone several times but a core memory from this shoot will always be at the end when James asked me if I’d be there at the wedding day in November and I said yes and he said “okay great that makes me feel better.” It’s just a small exchange but it means the world to me, if I can add a sense of peace to your wedding day, to the discomfort of having a camera in your face, that’s a big W for me 🙌🏼

I posted about this in my stories but photographing other cultures’ wedding ceremonies and traditions is really something special and it was an honor to be a part of their day. The Bosnian wedding is a beautiful celebration and the people make it even more wonderful. Friendly, kind, funny 💕🇧🇦

First of all I love when people bring their dogs in general but Sam said Wally might be a little crazy and he could not have been on better behavior ☺️ we love that for Wally.

S+A made this very easy between being fun to hang out with, taking direction so well and even eventually just knowing what to do, and genuinely loving each other ☺️ this was a breeze

How do I decide which photos to make black and white? If someone is shooting film, they have a black and white roll of film in their camera so every photo taken on that roll is black and white. They’re often choosing compositions and photos that lend themselves to black and white during the shooting stage.

In the case of digital photography, the choice is made in the editing stage. I love to choose images that lend themselves to the beauty and timelessness of black and white. A photo that has an art like quality to it is a great choice.

In some cases, low light settings are great for black and white as well because the skin tones and colors around the people may be muddied due to low light. An intimate low light moment might be brought to life by turning it black and white and taking out the distractions of the muddled colors.

And in the case of this photo, it works both ways. A quiet moment between the couple and the venue landscape they chose for their day 🖤 🤍

OMG 😍 my website is finally ready for launch! It’s been a long time coming but so worth the wait. For years I tried doing my website myself but eventually realized I hated doing it and didn’t know how to do anything speciality or custom. I truly just didn’t want to work on it anymore and needed to hire a professional. Best decision ever. I used to avoid telling people my website because I wasn’t proud of it. I also always used to tell people it was under construction, because it really was. It never felt finished.
