Although I’m not known for my enthusiasm for early Sunday mornings, I was excited to be part the of @headforthecure 5k fundraiser for brain cancer.
Next month will mark 14 years since my beloved father succumbed to glioblastoma- a devastating and highly aggressive form of brain cancer. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him. But I am grateful for all the good that came out of this loss- including meeting the most incredible people who have become cherished friends- like my dads neuro oncologist @jeffraizer who treated him with much compassion, skill, and much needed laughs; all my friends from the @malnatibraintumorinstitute who have lost their own loved ones and of course all my friends + family who were my rocks and have given generously of their time, love and resources.
There’s way too many to tag but thank you all always and forever. Special thanks goes to @mapleandclark + @pocoloco1222 for including me in todays fundraiser and especially for giving me a good reason to get up before the sun!! ☀️

There’s nothing that inspires me like art.
I had the pleasure of visiting @jylbonaguro today at her studio in Hermosa Park. Jyl is a local sculptor who truly brings marble and stone to life. Visiting her studio was almost like taking a trip to ancient Greco Roman works with her beautiful sketches and pristine marble. Her current work, “The Modern Athena” is breathtaking in person and even the best photos are not worthy of the respect this spectacular piece of art deserves.
