The 2025 collection is the first bridal collection designed after the passing of Dame Vivienne Westwood and inspired by the history of fashion and true love woven by Queen Victoria, Black and White are the colors chosen across this bridal collection as a way to express deep and enduring love.
We looked at the historical shapes and the chosen colors as explores by the brand in the past until more recent days. We looked at Vivienne herself as source of inspiration for the styling and the concepts she believed in such as DIY – for the collection that is greatly composed of transformative pieces that allow a multitude of looks and combinations. And “buy less, choose well, make it last” – as the bridal looks are designed to be worn beyond the wedding day.

Belle Custom Atelier is a heritage custom design studio founded in NYC by Giselle Ghofrani the daughter of Chicago's favorite alteration studio The Dress Doctor. Belle specializes in creating the ultimate gown for your wedding day or others in your party. We also carry several designers who specialize in customizations or are in the high-end luxury market. Belle is for anyone who is looking to be part of their entire gown creation process, from silhouette to final touches like lace appliqué or embroidery design. Because we are a shop-in-shop at The Dress Doctor, we have access to their expert atelier and also ours in NYC to provide you with the best pattern-makers, seamstresses, and materials in the industry.

History

Belle Custom Atelier was launched in NYC in 2015 by Giselle Ghofrani. After working in the bridal and fashion industry in New York for seven years she decided to start her own custom design studio. As of February 2018 Giselle has moved to Chicago and opened up a shop-in-shop at The Dress Doctor Located in The Water Tower Place. Belle also carries several bridal designers that you can order from. Alterations are included in the price of gowns and are done by The Dress Doctor. Set up an appointment at Belle to figure out your silhouette, we are also happy to help you find that perfect gown by sending you to other boutiques that we adore!
