FYI Long post, but I have to thank GOD for HIS protection!! I’m driving home from work and I decide to take the streets because it’s raining and my wipers aren’t all that great. I mean I can see, but on the expressway the trucks splash water all over your windshield. Anyway, I’m driving down Columbus passing the Gary airport getting ready to go across the bridge. I see this 18 wheeler doing 70 coming up behind me. Now mind you it’s wet and it’s slippery, so I’m like let me get over and get out of this nuts way! I proceed to get over but because I’m looking in my rear view mirror, I don’t see the 18 wheeler that’s coming towards me head on in the opposite direction. But apparently he saw the other 18 wheeler and me and slams on his breaks. Well like I said the bridge is slippery so the one coming towards me starts to jackknife and the one behind me is still doing 70! My life literally flashed before my eyes. All I could do was call out to GOD. Luckily the one coming towards me was able to stop without hitting me and without any other cars hitting him. The guy behind me never even slows down or stops. He just speeds past and keeps going. Some people have no regard for life, but I thank GOD for stopping the truck in front without him flipping over, without him hitting me or any other cars. I could have been smashed between two 18 wheelers, but GOD!!!

We hosted the Gary Indiana Mayor breakfast today. It was almost 400 people. My students were nervous, but I told them “Y’all got this!” When I tell y’all I am Sooooo proud of them!! They served, they were professional, they were proficient… I guess I’m doing something right.
