Fire It Up Now

National Night Out is a national event that aims to show law enforcement appreciation and create healthy relationships with community youth and police. Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch will celebrate this national event by riding on the Fire It Up Now Firetruck with Andy's Frozen Custard. The parade will begin from Weber's Bakery at 6:00 p.m. throughout the neighborhood, with Pastor JJ from Hope Church Midway providing a blessing for law enforcement. Participants with decorated cars are requested to assemble at 5:30 p.m. (no registration needed), no foot traffic will be allowed.
To join the celebration, if you're unable to participate in the parade, please turn on your porch lights and wear your "Garfield Ridge Strong Shirts" and Police support t-shirts. The event route is available on the GRNW page for your reference.

Let the Independence Day week long celebration begin!! Hope to see you all at the Patriot's Day Parade on Archer Ave this evening. Hosted by the Midway Chamber of Commerce and followed by a showing of Rookie of the Year in Wentworth Park.
We'll be there, lights, sirens and 'Proud to be an American' music blaring. Give us a wave!!

We are honored and privileged to have been included in the Archer Ave Car Show hosted by the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch. What an amazing community event!! It was so great to see all the classics and so many familiar faces!!

Check out the map for the Archer Car Show: June 21st from 6-9pm. Co-hosted by the Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch and Midway Chamber of Commerce.

The Archer Car Show starts at Oak Park and ends at Narragansett. There will be a soft close from Oak Park to Normandy. Then followed by a hard close from Normandy to Neenah. Finally, a soft close from Neenah to Narragansett.

Food trucks will be from Normandy to Natoma (the south side of the street).

Here's the difference between a hard and soft close:

Hard close: no vehicle movement whatsoever.

Soft close: Limited traffic will be allowed by CPD.

Overall, the purpose of soft and hard closes is for pedestrian safety! That said, classic cars participating must be parked by 5:45pm (no exceptions). Parking is available at Jiffy L**e, Ridge Funeral Home, 7/11, Archer Heights Credit Union, Loyalo Medical Center, and Cheesies. Parallel parking will be allowed on Archer Avenue.

No parking will be allowed in the middle of the street.
