Bout 16: Bobby Lee (now 12-2) of Start BJJ stopped Ashkan Morvari (15-9) of La Bodega in a 165 pound title fight by Round four TKO due to a nasty cut caused by a head kick.

Morvari went right on the attack with punches before clinching with Lee on the cage to begin the 165 pound Ignite Title Fight. Lee picked Morvari up moments later, smashing him to canvas. Morvari caught Lee in his half guard but Lee escaped and took his back. Morvari squirmed free and reversed to top position momentarily before both fighters stood up. Morvari landed a few nice head shots and Lee answered with a hard kick up top. Lee spent the rest of the round in Morvari’s half guard after the two went to the canvas from top position fighting for an opening.

Morvari had success by landing head punches again to kick off the round. Lee countered by taking Morvari back to the canvas. Lee latched onto Morvari’s back where he went to work on submissions and strikes while Morvari avoided trouble until the finish to the round.

A hard straight left to the body by Morvari dropped Lee (off balance). Morvari stayed on the attack and the two exchanged in the center of the cage. Round three finished with Morvari on his back and Lee in side control, both working from those positions.

Lee fired two nice head kicks to start round four which appeared to open up a cut over Morvari’s left eye which streamed blood. Lee took Morvari’s back and went to work again. Morvari reversed one again into the guard of Lee in top position. Lee landed a nice elbow from his back. Two more elbows by Lee followed. Morvari stood up and invited Lee to follow but the action was stopped for Doctor Stringer to take a look at the cut. The fight was allowed to continue for the time being. Lee landed a hard leg kick to the head and follow up left hook that dropped Morvari. Lee stayed on the attack having taken the back of Morvari. At the advice of the doctor, the fight was stopped at the conclusion of round four due to the severity of the cut.

Martin made it to his feet however and pounded Ellefson around the cage with head punches. Martin landed some heavy leg kicks before Ellefson brought Martin to the canvas to end the round.
