Julius Aglickas (now 11-4) of St. Charles MMA knocked out Moses Murrietta (now 10-8) of Subfighter and Rising Son MMA in a pro light-heavyweight bout. The time of the stoppage was 3:47 of round number two.

Aglickas buckled Murrietta’s legs with 1:30 left in the first round with a hard right hand. The two traded nice head shots to that point with Aglickas in the lead. Murrietta hung in the pocket but looked discouraged due to the hard punches landed by Aglickas at rounds end.

Aglickas continued to box and land hard right hands to the head of Murrietta. Murrietta had a nice moment two minutes in scoring with left and right body shots. Aglickas walked Murrietta down bloodying the nose and causing a small cut over Murrietta’s left eye. A huge right hand to the head dropped Murrietta and the fight was immediately stopped at 3:47 of round two

Reshal Malik (now 6-4-1) of The Academy won a three round unanimous decision over Edwin Jimenez (now 2-1) of Pura Vida in a pro 135 pound bout.

Malik took Jimenez to the canvas where he was able to get his back. Jimenez reversed but ended up in Malik’s guard. Malik did well by controlling Jimenez’s posture which led to a stalemate. Malik attacked from bottom, seeking an arm bar with a minute remaining in the first round.

Malik scored with a quick slam to begin round two. Malik took the back of Jimenez, secured a body lock, and hunted for the neck of Jimenez. Jimenez did well in defending a few dangerous situations at the minute remaining mark.

The fighters traded punches to begin round three but Malik took Jimenez down again. Jimenez stood up and unleashed punches and kicks, looking to find a way back into the fight but couldn’t keep Malik off of him while going back to the canvas.

The fight went to the scorecards where judges saw the bout unanimously in favor of Malik.

Alonzo Turner (now 6-1) of Revolution Fight and Fitness stopped Scott Writz (now 6-5) of Rising Son MMA by TKO at 2:13 of round three in a 175 pound pro MMA bout

Turner, a wrestler, took the fight to the canvas around a minute in. Turner landed punches and elbows once there forcing Writz to cover up. The power of Turner kept Writz from getting up and out of the position on the canvas. Writz spent the round taking hard blows but survived the round.

Writz, the taller of the two, opened up and attacked at the bell. He was able to land a hard right to the head but was quickly taken back to the canvas afterwards.
Turner dropped five or so elbows from Writz’ back at the midway point forcing him back into survival mode.

Writz wanted the fight to stay on his feet where he had a chance to trade but Turner was able to finish another take down. Writz attacked with elbows but Turner landed a crushing right to the head that put the lights out with Writz on his back forcing the referee to stop the fight at 2:13 of the third round.

Canon Swanson (now 2-1) of The Academy stopped David McKinney (now 6-5) of Grace Place and Elite Edge at :40 into the opening round.

Swanson landed a huge knee to the head that dropped McKinney, followed up with punches and the fight was stopped at :40 into the opening round.

Kyle Zimick (now (3-1) of Rising Son MMA won a three round unanimous decision over Victor Santos (now 5-3) of Brazilian Top Team. Scores read 30-27 x2 and 29-28 for Zimick.

Zimich got through with a big right hand to the head with 2 minutes remaining in the round that sent Santos to the mat. Santos was buzzed but recovered quickly. Zimick attacked for an arm bar but Santos defended well and turned the tables, landing knees and going on the attack before the fighters returned to their feet. A Big left hand to the head scored for Zimick which Santos took well again to close out the round.

Zimick had a tight guillotine in which Santos escaped early. Zimick continued attacking the neck of Santos. Another big left to the head rocked Santos later when the fight was stood up. Santos was able to defend but not offer offense in return.

Zimick landed a left kick to the head and clipped the chin of Santos at the start of the third. Santos showed that iron jaw once again
Foot-stomps by Zimick harassed Santos Zimick took Santos to the canvas again.
A big spinnng left to the head connected for Santos at the minute remaining mark which was exactly what he was looking to do to get into the fight. Zimick was not seriously hurt but it was enough to take some momentum back in his favor as the fight ended.

The three round contest went in favor of Zimick 30-27 x2 and 29-28.

Randall Lynn (now (2-1) of Mark 44 MMA defeated Joe Boone (2-1) of National Karate by round 2 guillotine choke in an amateur super welterweight title bout.

The southpaw Boone and Lynn made it clear that this was going to be a standing slugfest. Boone with the karate style suffered an accidental eye poke which stopped the action for a minute before the fight resumed. Lynn matched the style of Boone as an even and competitive first round bell rang.

A solid right hand to the head got the attention of Lynn in the second round. Lynn calmly pressed forward and landed left and rights of his own. The fight resembled the earlier May Thai fights (standing) which the crowd was loving.

Lynn scored the first takedown (first attempted) at 1:30 of the third round. Boone made it to his feet but ate a right to the face in the process. Lynn finished in dramatic fashion with guillotine choke.

Samuel Gaier (now 5-1) of Robin Fitness defeated Gavin Luze (now 2-2) of Revolution Martial Arts by face crank at 1:23 of the second round in an amateur welterweight title bout.

Luze lined up and landed a handful of hard right hands to the head of Gaier to begin. Gaier came back strong with a take down and back control on the canvas, landing punches from Luze’s back. Gaier nearly sank in a RNC before transitioning to the back and to calmly going back on the attack.

Luze just missed with heavy left and rights to the head before one snuck through in the second round. Like the prior round, Gaier took the shots, remained calm, and took Luze to the canvas, taking his back and looking for the finish which he got by face crank at 1:23 of the second round.

Noah Gasho (5-1) of The Academy won a unanimous decision over Anteze Howard (now 6-3) of The Cellar in an amateur featherweight amateur title bout. Gasho won every round on all three cards but it was competitive.

It was a grappling battle for position standing at the cage for much of the round between Howard and Gasho as each looked to gain the upper hand. The two featherweights exchanged some knees in the clinch.

Howard scored a take down but Gasho reversed, ended up on top and hammered punches home. Back up on their feet, the two fighters exchanged body kicks. Howard secured a tight front choke with :50 left but Gasho stayed calm before escaping.

The back and forth high speed battle continued into round three. The two fighters went to work and the crowd cheered.

Gasho got the action rolling to begin the fourth with a crashing right kick to the head of Howard. Gasho found Howard on the canvas with :56, moved to side control and landed punches as the momentum began to sway in his favor. Howard may have shown signs of tiring at the end of the round.

Howard pressed the action to start the fifth and final round. Gasho was warned for holding the cage at the two minute mark as the two men found themselves clinched at the cage again. Gasho finished the fight strong, landing punches and knees to the body

Jorge Pederson (now 3-1) of the Academy stopped Dominic Yates (now 3-2) of Ronin Fitness by RNC at :31 of round 2 in an amateur middleweight bout.

Pederson stormed out of his corner and eventually took Yates to the canvas with a hard slam. Yates found guard looked for a few submission attempts. The power of Pederson made that difficult but eventually, Yates took mount. It was short lived as Pederson reversed and the two stood up to close the round.

Pederson lands a hard knee to the stomach of Yates after stuffing a take down. Pederson slammed Yates and sunk in a rear naked choke with :31 of the second round.

Caden Bednark (now 3-1) of Dreger Jiu Jitsu won a three round unanimous decision over Jack Ellefson (now 2-1) of 3Soteric in an amateur middleweight bout.

Bednark dropped Ellefson with a hard right to the head after the two traded evenly through the half way point of the round. From the canvas, Bednark attacked but Ellefson recovered, and worked to side control, looking for finishes. Ellefson did well on the ground and Bednark, with a bloody nose, fended off the attacks to the bell.

Bednark struck first with a hard right to the chin and Ellefson countered with peppering combos to the head in round two. Bednark continued to find his mark mixing in head kicks now. The south paw Ellefson stayed light on his feet looking to counter. The two traded hard head punches to close out a good round from both.

Ellefson was caught by another head shot that forced the fight to the canvas. Bednark attacked from inside the guard of Ellefson with 1:30 remaining in the final round. Ellefson swept Bednark with :50 left and went on the attack from mount. Now with the back taken, Ellefson tried to finish but ran out of time.

Scores read 29-28 in an entertaining fight for Bednark.

Shelby Labonty (now 3-2) of Veda Combat won a unanimous decision over Hollis Nelson (now 1-2) of Pura Vida in an amateur straw weight bout. Scores read 29-28 x3 for Labonty.

Hard body kicks delivered by Labonty to start. Nelson also began to show a mouse early under her left eye from straight lead punches by Labonty. A crowd pleasing head kick also landed by Labonty with :50 remaining. Nelson stepped forward in the round but had trouble getting off clean on her taller opponent.

Nelson tried closing the distance right away but was taken down to the canvas. Nelson attempted to sweep from butterfly guard but settled for full guard while Labonty looked to pass. The fighters moved back to their feet with 1:10 left in the round. Labonty scored another take down off the cage with :25 remaining.

Most likely down a few rounds, Nelson scored with a takedown to begin the third. Nelson kept top control in Labonty’s half guard for the rest of the round, scoring occasionally with punches before Labonty reversed the position to end the fight. Final scores read 29-28 in favor of Labonty.

Andrew Ritter (now 1-0) of Warrior’s Cove defeated Chance Andrews (now 0-1) of Mark 44 by round 1 ankle lock in a welterweight MMA bout.

Hard straight left to the chin dropped Andrews straight out of the gate. Ritter looked to finish but Andrews was able to recover on the canvas enough to extend the fight and make it to his feet. Andrews went on the attack with punches of his own and the two exchanged lefts and rights to the head before ending up clinched against the cage. Ritter finished the fight later on the ground at 2:30 of the first round by ankle lock.

Brittany Nieman (now 2-2) of Bellum Jiu Jitsu stopped Hannah Johnson (now 1-2) of The Academy by round 1 RNC in an amateur welterweight bout.

Nieman scored a takedown and landed directly in side control to start the bout. Johnson fought hard to keep half guard from her back while Nieman sought mount. Nieman slowly worked to full mount and landed left and right hands to the head. Nieman took Johnson’s back and finished the bout by rear naked choke at 2:15 of the opening round.

Kyle Hedemark (now 1-1) of McCunes Martial Arts won a three round unanimous decision over Juan Velasquez Jr. (now 0-2) of Velasquez MMA in an amateur straw weight bout. Scores read 30-27, 29-28 for Hedemark.

Hedemark landed a hard right kick to the body that drew “oooh’s” from the crowd. Velasquez looked to counter which he did a few times with head shots. Hedemark began to target the body with punches as the round went on to accompany the kicks he was throwing. The two bumped fists and nodded the effort from both as the bell sounded to end the round.

Hard combinations to the head and body from Hedemark which Velasquez showed toughness in taking. The fight remained with both fighters on their feet and exchanging at the center of the ring throughout the bout so far before a shot from Velasquez was stuffed with :50 left in the round. Hedemark took Velasquez’s back and dropped punches during the final ten seconds of the round.

Velasquez looked a little tired or weary stepping out for the final round Hedemark was in no rush and walked forward, looking for openings, pot shutting with jabs and body punches. A slow takedown was stuffed by Hedemark took end the fight.
