Survey says... As powerful as incentive travel is, it's also challenging to get right -- and now even more so, according to decision makers surveyed in the latest Incentive Travel Index.

From higher costs and reduced airlift and hotel availability making it more difficult to satisfy senior leadership (85%) to overall planning and delivering programs becoming more challenging (75%), what's clear is how valuable experienced planners are to a successful program (84%).

Survey says... the strategic importance of incentive travel is growing! As organizations strive to retain talent and strengthen relationships, incentive travel is increasingly recognized as critical to their success, according to the recently released 2023 Incentive Travel Index.

Retention of employees (90%) is the most commonly cited reason why, followed by “travel is becoming more valued as a reward” (83%). It also fulfills the need to bring together a more dispersed workforce (79%). Achieving desired business results (76%) and competitive hiring advantage (72%) round out the top reasons.

The SDI team is thrilled to share that we’ve been named to MeetingsNet’s CMI 25 list for 2023!

The 16th annual list recognizes the leading full-service meeting and incentive-travel management companies focused on the U.S. corporate market, produced by MeetingsNet. In aggregate, the companies on the CMI 25 reported executing close to 85,000 corporate meetings and nearly 3,000 incentive travel programs in 2022.
