Big Delicious Planet was founded in 1994 as a backstage rock & roll caterer, providing meals and fulfilling those notorious dressing requirements for thousands of rock bands. Today you’re more likely to find us catering stylish weddings, designing one of a kind events in the middle of our urban farm, and feeding globally inspired cuisine to the employees of Chicago’s Facebook office on a daily bas

Just as the business began on a whim more than two decades ago, we enjoy taking an idea and seeing what happens when we try it out, whether it’s planting a vegetable garden, creating a new menu, or implementing a new sustainability program. What started as a simple plan for a small garden turned into an urban farm with 75 raised beds and an apiary. Our urban farm is a showcase in our belief in creating fresh menus reflecting Chicago’s growing season. In 2013 we became a 4 Star Certified Green Restaurant and were named “Greenest Caterer in America,” a status awarded to foodservice businesses
that adhere to the strictest environmental standards.
