Last night was EPIC! What an amazing night of celebration in the Labor Community. We honored some of the communities top Union champions that are working hard for today's workers. From making sure that servers and bartenders receive fair pay to ensuring our flight attendants are treated with respect. The icing on the cake was honoring the first black Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives and giving his flowers now by honoring them with the 2024 Gentle Warriors Award. We also announced the naming of the new Jesse Jackson Civil Rights wing which will be located at the newly renovated . I am honored that I get to plan and produce a piece of our history every year (8 years and counting).

I'm not going to say the old cliche that "when you do what you love, it doesn't feel like work." Because it does feel like work thus says my knees and ankles at the end of an event! But there is definitely a difference when you do it because you love what you do, your tribe is dope and you have great clients. I am humbled for the acknowledgement by . Thank you for allowing me to produce and plan your galas for the last 6 years.

What an awesome week of purposeful events!! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to plan, manage and coordinate events that impact the community and African-American entrepreneurs. Over the last 4 months I have had the honor and privilege of working with two amazing, God-fearing individuals. From the moment we spoke, we clicked and they knew that I understood the assignment -- God first! started the day off with a ceremony filled with anointing and God's love and finished it off with a reception filled with love, joy and fellowship. If when you marry your best friend was a person...it would be Mr. & Mrs. Spann.

I will never forget speaking at a bridal event and when it was over and her aunt were like, "so can we hire you..lol." We clicked instantly. Everything about them and their wedding party was -- including the historic church in the historic South Shore community. It was 100 and hell that day but we pushed through and I am so honored to call you friends. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to the Spanns!!

Let the room transformation begin...

My client wanted a space to not only celebrate her 50th birthday but to provide a preview of her new foundation, , a nonprofit organization assisting families who have lost loved ones to cancer or dealing with the difficulties that this sometimes life-altering disease can leave behind. If you only knew her story, you would understand why I made it a personal mission to create a space just as elegant and classic as she and as her son saw her.

How are you preparing for your next event? Who is making sure your MC / Speaker has all of their talking points? we were so honored to plan the annual gala with the hilarious . He needs no introduction but it doesn't hurt to be prepared and go over a few pointers. I can not wait to begin planning with them again❤.
