Yesterday’s wedding was beyond special!!! My high school friend and classmate married her soulmate (I don’t say that lightly), and I’m still so honored that she thought of me to serve as her wedding planner. At the start of the planning process, I ask my couples what’s most important to them. Men typically say entertainment and food, and women usually make design and ambiance their main focus. As a planner, knowing this helps me to create a budget and planning guide that makes the most sense for them. At the end of the day, we love design, but it’s so important that every element of the day makes sense and flows. We get into the details, because we believe they matter, and accentuate the overall guest experience. Regardless, of your priorities, you want your guests to notice all the little special moments that were strategically meant for them to enjoy!

We never pressure our couples to have a first look, but honey the pros definitely outweigh the cons! This couple featured in our styled shoot is actually very MARRIED! Even though it was staged just for this photoshoot, you can see the level of surprise and joy in their eyes! That doesn’t change. If a groom is going to cry when you walk down the aisle, having a first look won’t change that. Trust me, I’ve seen it. The moment will be just as special with all the butterflies. On top of that, you get a lot more amazing portraits out of the way, and end up with an amazing gallery of photos you otherwise might not have had. Now, if you’re a traditionalist to your core, roll with that! No judgment here. Maybe you’re stuck in the middle, and a first prayer, or first touch is the best route for you. When discussing the timeline with our clients, sometimes the time of year and when the sun goes down helps to make the decision a bit easier. Either way it goes, if you decide to go with a first look or not, the day will be special and full of all the feels.

These two advocated for each other throughout the entire planning process, even when what they wanted personally opposed the other’s desire. Thought I’d peek in and say HEY &
MERRY CHRISTMAS! While I’ve remained slightly active in my stories, I haven’t posted here in months and that’s been very much on purpose. If you’re a new follower, I’m Tammy, owner and senior planner at . This year has been one I’ll definitely never forget, and it changed me for sure. My husband and I sold a home and built and moved our family into our “forever” home. That in and of itself was A LOT!!! Decision fatigue is real. But we love it here, and are grateful to God for the journey.

Also, a few months back my mommy, after a fight with breast cancer, went to be with Jesus. She was working in February, so I didn’t see this Christmas or year ending without her. But glory be to God, because I have a greater revelation of God’s goodness and comfort to carry me through any situation. I’m also, so grateful for all the BTV clients, who stuck it out with me, and who were beyond patient through the most challenging year for me personally. I love y’all! To my team and all my friendors (vendor friends) who listened, encouraged, and prayed for me, I love y’all for real. This industry can be lonely at times, but y’all checked on me and it didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, I’m blessed to be surrounded by family and friends who were constantly checking on me to make sure I was okay. I love y’all. Last, but not least, I’m so blessed with this husband of mine . I have little to no memory of our annual family celebrations and traditions this year, but I know you were there and present in ways that I couldn’t be. Thank you honey! I love you!

So, as I approach 2023, I’m confident that I can get through whatever comes. I don’t always have the answers or solutions to every problem, but I’m linked to the ONE who does. Now that I’ve shown up today, I’ll try to show up more in 2023! Merry Christmas!!!

What a blessing it is to see another year! On this 41st birthday, I can truly look back over the last year with all of its accomplishments and challenges and just say thank you Jesus! 40 was a year of building! expanded to build a true team model that has allowed me to broaden my vision and serve clients in a greater capacity. My husband and I also had the privilege of building our dream home, that we moved into just a week ago. I’ve learned that building anything requires a lot of vision, faith, and patience, but more than that a whole lot of Jesus! I’m committing to rest in and rely upon Him in this 41st year, because babygirl is tired. I’m excited for the direction He’s taking me in, and trusting that wherever I end up will be greater than where I started! Happy Birthday to me!!! 🥳
