It is with profound sadness that I must announce the Texas Chainsaw event will not proceed, at least not as planned, if at all,
Another business/promoter will be bringing in at least Ed Guinn on the dates we had arranged., at my expense, as I intend to honor his contract which was never broken. Beyond that I can't say much else.
But the other people who were working on this event will update you, most likely Monday, with information about what will take place.
Refunds have been processed. And will be monitored by me. if there are ANY issues whatsoever, you will be contacted. The expctation is that funds will be restored to your original payment methods no later than next Friday, up to 5 business days consistent with all forms of refunds. If anyone needs to contact us in regards to their refunds, please message us here, or email us at [email protected]
I had been going back and forth on this and debating how long and how much I would disclose. But it was a lot and I didn't think everyone would read it and I don't know that even if presented with all the facts that people would still care, and not still direct anger towards the one person who tried repeatedly to salvage this event.
6 of the show guests came to us through agents, they had more demands and had more detailed contracts, which they never followed through on. I don't know if they were aware, or if communication started and stopped with the agents. We made every possible effort to get them to comply and all 6 contracts were broken and unenforcable since April 5th.
Despite having brought in Trick or Treat and having created a potential revenue stream that would have far exceeded what the agents asked for in guarantees, Trick or Treat was not supported by our guests. They relied on this, they relied on me who told them that the guests would support them, and that they would have a successful show.
With the wrestling, we made custom belts, we made custom fliers with graphic designers, we took fliers to various stores, events, and concerts. None of the tools we provided the promtion were used as of Monday. Total wrestling attendance after having announced in march was 4 people. I don't think anything was malicious, but definitely we were not on the same page. But running the wrestling would have done more harm than not, as there was no possible way to make this event successful at this late stage.
In addition to all of this, we had two gate keepers, that we knew of. Someone, who i've decided not to name because it will get out there on it's own, decided that they needed to get people nervous and tell them falsely that the event was likely to cancel based on "facts" that were actually slander and misinformation about myself. I can't tell you exactly how many of the 1,200 dropped carts on our website were because of this, and how many of that was the guests not assuring fans they were coming, but this was probably not something we would have dealt with if everything was running properly. But I had to decide at a specific time that I had to put my foot down, and I had to demand that everyone do what was asked of them.
That point was Thursday. I sent a warning to the agents demanding that they fix all the contract violations and gave them an expectation that never was follow through on. After the date had come and passed, one of the agents reached and said they were dealign wtih someone having passed away, but was posting video and pictures on Facebook of them partying and drinking. It was than that I knew this was a losing battle.
What you have to understand is, these guests had broken contracts. And in not doing what we asked, they contributed to lower than anticipated attendance. I don't have a proven statistical figure, but when no one makes an announcement when they are supposed to do, and no one makes posts when they are supposed to, and Trick is Treat is promoting a box set and all of the guests contracted to promote it aren't, you can't expect solid attendance. I told the agents this, so either the agents would have at some point had to tell their clients that not enough people were coming to the event, and we weren't going to honor their guarantees because they broke their contracts, or they were going to let their clients go to the show to find out. Which would have meant either that the guests woudl have found out, not shown up, and we would have had likely a still fairly empty venue and barely any guests. Or what few people bought tickets would have come, than it would have gotten quiet, and than the guests would have been expecting us to pay them teh guarantees, unaware it wasn't goign to happen, and than there would be a blow up. So either way it was goign to be a bad experience for the fans and guests both. And after discussing with Trick or Treat, we both agreed that in order to protect them, and prevent them from being involved in a bad situation it was best for them to cancel. Which they didn't want to do, And this is not on them.
And to clarify, if the guests did what they were supposed to do, when they were supposed to do it, irregardless of attendance we would have put the money together and ran the event. And we would have honored guarantees if not met. That's why Ed is still coming, his contract wasn't broken.
So that they don't get held accountable for this, Ed Guinn, Mort castle, Mick Strawn, and Thomas Belissario all came to me directly. And were not a part of this situation. Their agreements were structured differently, yet Mick and Thomas did a podcast immediately upon announcement which no contracted guest ever did.
I am taking a break, I am not hiding. You will not find me on Facebook. The others will be responding to messages about refunds only on Facebook, everything else has been stated above. I will be working with the team until I have confirmation from Posh that the refunds have been processed and everyone is in receipt of their funds. There isn't much, but if we have any unfinished business I will be tying all of that up after the show situation gets involve. So just stand by, I know how to reach you, even if it's not on Facebook. I don't like discussing personal stuff but I had surgery to remove a growth in front of my brain in February. I also had a mini stroke. My Dr's told me to slow down, I never took a day off since the minute the contracts were signed, I honored everything I said I would. And I am in pain, and I am exhausted. I am actually on stroke risk now, and have to get tested next week. I have neglected my health and now that this is not goign to be a reality, I need to take care of myself and hopefully not have another stroke.
