Why let your gorgeous ceremony blooms take a back seat after you say ‘I do’? 💐✨ One way we like to suggest cutting down on cost AND waste is to repurpose flowers from your ceremony to your reception. Ceremony backdrops tend to look amazing behind sweetheart and head tables. You can also repurpose large arrangements on es**rt card tables, and repurpose bridesmaid bouquets to jazz up the bar!

Repurposing creates double the beauty, half the waste—because flowers this fab deserve an encore.

Swipe to see some examples of repurposing ceremony flowers in the reception decor!

Cutest wedding guest goes to…🐶

We LOVE these pics of Caroline and Joe’s September wedding by Emily Williams Photography. For their wedding flowers, we were going for elegant, organic, ethereal with an emphasis on colors like burnt orange, dusty blush, dark mauve, ivory, peach and dark green.

They got married at Park Ridge Country Club on the last day of summer. What better way to celebrate the changing of the seasons?!

Flowers we used in their decor wedding blooms were burnt orange and burgundy dahlias, cafe latte roses, chocolate queen anne’s lace, autumn clematis, camellias, dark purple ranunculus, and more.

Save this for your wedding flower inspo!

As the leaves change and the air turns crisp, fall weddings offer a stunning backdrop for rich, vibrant floral arrangements. Here’s how to create a breathtaking fall color palette for your wedding flowers!

🍁 Earthy Tones
Think deep oranges, warm reds, and golden yellows. These colors evoke the beauty of the season and can create a cozy, romantic atmosphere.

🌿 Green Accents
Incorporate shades of deep green with eucalyptus or ivy for a fresh contrast that complements autumn blooms beautifully.

🍂 Rich Jewel Tones
Consider adding burgundy, plum, and navy for a sophisticated touch. These colors can elevate your floral arrangements and give a regal feel to your wedding.

Some of our favorite fall flowers to use wedding floral arrangements include dahlias, lisianthus, mums, grasses, and toffee roses!

Send this to someone you know planning their fall wedding next year!

I think if you ask wedding florists what their favorite thing to design is- most of us would say the bridal bouquet. It is really such an honor to create someone's bouquet- and also a lot of pressure! A lot goes into making a bouquet look good.

Every flower has to be perfect. First off, you have to over order flowers because there are always a few bad ones in the bunch. Then you have to get the flowers to open just the right amount- not too full blown open and not too tightly closed. You have to remove all the foliage, thorns, and bruised petals. Some flowers need wires to stand up stronger to withhold all the jostling that happens on wedding days. And sometimes I've had to make and remake bouquets because I'm a perfectionist and every flower has to be positioned just right!

I usually make the bride's bouquet earlier on designing days when I'm fully energized (with chocolate) because it takes a lot out of me! By the time I'm done, my muscles in my hands are shaking and I'm probably sweating. haha! But it's so worth it- especially when I get to see my artwork in these professional photos.

Schedule a consultation with us to start dreaming about your wedding bouquet!

“Jori and her team made my floral dreams come true for my wedding. She was able to understand and execute my vision better than I could've ever imagined. The room was beautiful to begin with, but it transformed it into a magical romantic disco garden, which is very much what I wanted. She was easy to communicate with and very professional. I would highly recommend!” - Amanda P.

Happy (belated) 1 Year Anniversary, Katheen & Sam!

The couple tied the knot last September at the iconic Chicago History Museum! Their overall look was nothing short of classic, romantic, and enchanting. The color palette they opted in for was olive, champagne, Burgundy, pale pink–perfect for early fall vibes.

Kathleen carried a loose, not too wildly shaped bouquet. We used seasonal elements like roses, dahlias, ranunculus, lisianthus, and zinnias. Every wedding ceremony usually has a statement piece and for this September wedding, it was the moon arch where the couple said their “I Do’s”!

Wishing you both a lovely anniversary! We’re grateful to have been part of your special day.

Having a big wedding? You’ll 100% need a “full service florist”!

When we say full service- we mean it! We are basically yours for the entire day! Want to know what our typical wedding timeline looks like?

9-10AM: Wrap bouquets in ribbon and pack up for delivery. Bring personal flowers (bouquets and boutonnieres) to your getting ready location. Usually this is a hotel or home. We do this so you can take pictures with your flowers before the ceremony if you’re doing a first look.

11AM: quick lunch and pack up flowers in boxes for transport

12PM: Load up the van

1PM-5PM: Arrive at your venue to unload and start setting up

5PM: Snap photos of the room all set and patiently wait for the ceremony to be over

6-7PM: Quickly move things from the ceremony to the reception space and light candles.

7-11PM: Go home, rest, eat dinner

12AM: Head back to the venue to clean up and bring all of our rental items back to the studio. We also offer a donation service for the flowers so we carefully transport those back to the studio for a pick up the next day.

Are you wondering when is the “right time” to book your wedding florist?

Did you book a venue and pick a date?

Now is the time!!

Most of our clients book us about 9-12 months out from their wedding date. You might think this is a vendor you can put off til later, but you’d be doing yourself a disservice! Why?
Well for one, you want to make sure you get first pick of the florist of your dreams! It would be so disappointing to have your eye on a florist and then find out down the road that they are already booked for your date.

Also, your florist has lots of prepping to do before your date. We have to source hard goods, source flowers from various farms, write flower recipes and hire staff. Need another reason to book your florist early? (arrow down)

You don’t want to blow your budget before you get to the pretty stuff! After all, so many of my clients say the flowers are what made the wedding!!

You can head to our website and schedule a free call with us. Let’s chat!

Don't forget to add this to your wedding timeline...

You've spent months and countless hours planning your wedding down to every last tiny detail. And sometimes couples don't get a single photo of it all...

Trust me, you will want to remember all of these details you've also spent so much money on!

People often forget to add this part of the day into their wedding timeline....

I highly recommend asking your planner and photographer to set aside the time to capture the reception room all set up before guests arrive into the space. And your ceremony space too.

You'll get to see everything shine- before guests leave their purses on the table, or drape jackets on chairs or move their napkins.

Most photographers already know to do this but just double check with them to make sure it's on the list!

Save this post and send this to someone you know planning a wedding so they don't forget this important part of their day!

Meet the founder & owner of Romee Willow Florals!

Jori Foreman is the owner and lead designer at Romee Willow Florals. She is a lifelong artist with a background in painting, stained glass and pottery which all inform her current medium of floral artistry. After receiving her BFA in painting from the University of Iowa, she has called Chicago home for over a decade. She is the mama to her sweet little girl, Romee, and to her dog babies, Lenny and Fiona. Connecting with nature on a regular basis is what her soul craves. So when the city life is a little too paved, surrounding herself with flowers is the perfect antidote. She’s sensitive at heart but not afraid to sweat, break a nail or shed a tear, just so that your flowers end up looking incredible.

Looking for a florist for your Chicago wedding? Shoot us an email and we’d be happy to start supporting you!

Floral hedges, Deconstructed arches, moon arches, pedestals, oh my! What does any of it even mean?

You’re going to want to SAVE this post and SHARE it with a friend getting married!

Do you know what the heck these things are? If you’re planning a wedding, it’s good to brush up on these terms before meeting with your florist. We are here to educate, not to worry!

Floral hedge: Usually a rectangular section of floral appearing to grow out of the ground. Sometimes arranged in a half moon shape on the ground.

Deconstructed Arch: Two separate structures of flowers arching towards each other but not touching.

Moon Arch: A round arch in the shape of a full moon decorated with flowers and greenery.

Pedestals: These are usually about 3ft tall, aka columns or risers. They hold flowers at a nice height- usually placed down the aisle, the entrance of the aisle or at the altar.

Happy First Wedding Anniversary, Audrey & Matt!

We had a blast working with Audrey and Matt on their glamorous wedding in the peak of summertime Chi! This couple tied the knot last summer at Fairlie in West Loop. We loved making Audrey’s loose and natural bouquet, with mostly white floral and a pop of neutral tones. The main stars were white orchids, toffee roses, and peach garden roses.

It was fun for us to work with all of the romantic elements that the location had to offer. For the ceremony space, we hung (from the 30ft ceilings, yikes!!) a floral backdrop against the brick wall. We also hung a huge ring of floral and greenery from the ceiling. Clusters of candles and greenery lined the ceremony aisles.

Send this to anyone you know is getting ready to plan their summertime glam wedding!

Happy first anniversary, Patricia and Nick!

This couple tied the knot last July at . Patricia and Nick went for a bright summer palette of orange and hot pink for their flowers. Patricia carried a loose and airy shaped bouquet with vibrant dahlias, ranunculus, cosmos, and garden roses. The parents of the bride and groom even wore their own corsages and boutonnieres of voluptuous ranunculus. The energy of summer was definitely felt at this beautiful wedding!
