The beginning

“She was born Darryca Brim-Mims. But to the world, she’s Darra Michelle.”

Hi, I’m Darra Michelle. And like many other Chicago natives, I began my journey with a dream. My dream was rather specific, and unfortunately, not realized often enough. I dreamed of change. I dreamed of serving my community. And I dreamed of giving a voice to those who don’t feel they have one just yet. I envisioned a life for myself that allowed me to create opportunities in my community while advocating for young girls, women, and children. And that childhood dream has lead me to do just that.
