Elope to Chicago is a site dedicated to helping couples in the Chicago area plan their elopements or intimate weekday weddings. ETC was started by local photographer Becky Brown (www.beckybrownphotography.com). It has grown from just photography services to complete packages including hair & makeup, flowers and an officiant. We have couples coming from all over Illinois as well as out of state to

get married! All packages are available for Monday- Friday weddings of 50 people or less (holidays excluded). Whether it's just photography you need or a combination of services we are here to help!

Did we do the windiest elopement ever on Halloween? Possibly. Was it amazing? Yes!
Despite Mother Nature really bringing the spooky vibes and wild winds for Halloween, we did the sweetest wedding by the lake. We may have nearly lost all the ribbons for the handfasting ceremony in the lake, but it made for some fun photos and good laughs (and we caught them all thanks to some fast moving family members). Melissa and Clint said I do last week overlooking the Chicago River. Sounds lovely right? Well Chicago through us a couple of loops first by having all access points around Trump hotel closed so we couldn’t walk from their hotel to the spot we wanted to the ceremony. Yada yada yada…. We may have climbed over some barriers and went to plan B for where we did the ceremony. I think it ended up even better and a good story for later! But I don’t recommend it in a wedding dress haha. Thankfully our couples roll with the punches and being a local I can always pivot to a different spot if, for whatever reason, the original plan is no longer an option. If you were wondering where all the fall color and fabulous people are the answer is Promontory Point! I met Tanner and Blaine on Sunday and they exchanged vows under these gorgeous red trees before we soaked in one of the best Chicago nights by the lake for sunset. Wow I’m behind on sharing here. This time of year is wildly busy for photographers and I’m just in survival mode for a few more weeks. But I did get to spend the day Friday at city hall with the cutest couple - Kaitlyn and Courtney! They said I do and it was nothing but smiles and joy and love all around. We kicked off our Labor Day weekend of wedding madness with Amber and Rhys! These two made my job so easy. They were so in love and striking poses and just having a blast the whole time. Congrats to the newlyweds!

We spent our Sunday celebrating with Lisa and Dustin as they said I do at ! It was the perfect intimate celebration complete with a quote from Charlie and the Chocolate a factory at the end of their ceremony. A nod to the groom who is a film maker :)

Although the Lily Pool is closed to the public while they continue to work on a restoration project, they are allowed permits for photos and ceremonies on weekends. Tammy and David exchanged I do’s at city hall on 8/8 before exploring the city for some photos. I love to capture the motion of the city in some photos and there are several places that are walkable from city hall. Chicago theater being one of them :)

As an FYI to any and all couples looking to get married at city hall, the marriage court downtown will be closed August 19th-23rd during eve DNC convention. They are taking appointments still for the Skokie Courthouse and you can get married via Zoom ( is anyone still doing that?!). I have no control over this, I’m simply passing along the info. As far as I know vital records should still be open to get licenses. I’m trying to confirm that.

In Elope to Chicago news we are not taking any more booking until after the first weekend in September. I (Becky) am simply at capacity for what I can take on without my editing turn around getting to be like 4 months. Every single wedding has multiple bookings.
We still have some availability for September behind that first week and October is shockingly open.
