If you’ve been following me for the last 7.5 minutes, you know I talk about my mom’s influence ALL.THE.TIME. and as today is Father’s Day, I need to give flowers to the man who not only gave me my name but also inspired my entrepreneurial journey.
Dr. Eddie (as he is known in our social circles) is a man of few but STRONG, WISE words. He is a mentor to many young men, an advisor to his peers, and a true/ loyal friend to an exclusive group for over 60 years.
His personal sacrifices have allowed my brother and I privileges many children may not have been afforded; I was well versed in business management and marketing at the same time I was watching Reading Rainbow and Sesame Street!
My dad is not a perfect man but God knew what He was doing when He chose me to make him a first time papa 😊…… We are each others soul twin ( even we don’t want to acknowledge it😂) and I am truly blessed to call this man my daddy💗
These lovely ladies are getting married today and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate them!! I had the privilege of coordinating Brianna’s sisters wedding two years ago, so today feels like a family reunion 😊
The weather is definitely NOT gonna stop us from having an amazing party, let’s go!!!

🎵 Allow me to re-introduce myself! 🎵 I’m Amber and I’m the founder and lead planner of Events With Ambiance!
I come from a long line of event planners. My mom used to host incredible parties filled with music, laughter, and good food. And so did my grandmother!
The ambiance created by these gatherings left a profound impact on me. I can still hear the lively music, the little taps of dancing feet on the floor… It was this love of movement and life that led me to my longstanding career as a professional dancer.
When I became a ballroom dance instructor, I met countless fiancés who talked to me about their wedding woes. My heart ached for them and I yearned to give my clients the gift of ambiance my mother gave to me.
So I decided to trade my dancing shoes for non-slips and learn everything under the sun about supporting couples as they plan their big day.
I did my time as a bartender, a server, a banquet captain, a wedding day assistant, and — eventually — a venue manager and wedding coordinator.
I started Events with Ambiance in 2013, and the rest is history!
Today, there’s nothing I love more than helping busy urban professionals feel seen, heard, and celebrated as they take the first step in their marriage journey.

The diamonds are in the details! Our June bride, Andrea, is a Art Therapist, so she created all of the day of signage to look as if it was hand drawn with colored pencil!

Each guest also received a small container of colored pencils and a blank card stock; they were asked to draw an image or write a message to the couple which became the pages of their guest book!

Chapter 44: I’m That Girl…..
I was prepared to write a super long post, but I’m in my feelings right now so I’ll just say….This past year can only be described as a Masterclass in how REALLY trusting God works; I’m grateful and humbled by God’s unconditional grace, mercy and love for me and I am so excited and giddy to see how this next year unfolds cause it’s only up from here!

Last Saturday can only be described as a Masterclass in how “Day of Coordination” CAN work…..
My wedding season was completed for 2 weeks when I received an inquiry from Michael asking if I was available for his wedding to Frank the following Saturday!!
The way he responded to my inquiry questionnaire had me intrigued so I booked a call and 5 minutes in, I knew I had to say YES! He was so organized and detailed and he and Frank were such a genuine and loving couple I took them on with 10 days to their wedding!
Their wedding was a blueprint for how an untraditional wedding can still be chic, modern, fun, classy and unique to the couple and it was truly a pleasure for the EWA team to celebrate Frank & Michael’s journey into marriage!
