💐 Floral Fun Fact Friday 💐
For week two I present to you- one of my faves that took some time, but “grew” on me. 😉 It’s STOCK.
Stock is quite fragrant, with varying degrees of fragrance between colors. It’s scent tends to lean towards a more “spicy” scent than “sweet.” 🌶️
Stock is actually part of the cabbage family, and it’s petals are edible! 🥬
Stock is such a long lasting flower, some varieties have been called “ten week stock.” ⏰
Stock continues to grow after its cut. If you keep it long enough you’ll notice it’s growth, reaching towards the nearest light source. ☀️

Eucalyptus - Most people think of the smell, koala’s, and Australia when we think of eucalyptus. But did you know that there are around 700 species of eucalyptus?! Sheesh! And ALL of them can be found on the island continent of Australia. 🇦🇺🐨
Eucalyptus has long been used for it’s antibacterial and anti fungal properties. 🧼
While most trees have round stems, eucalyptus stems are closer to a square. Weird! 🟩
Eucalyptus flowers have no petals. They grow from a bud called a “gum nut.” You can see one here pictured. 🍃
